Bo-Kaap contains the largest concentration of pre-1850 architecture in South Africa and it's the oldest surviving residential neighborhood in Cape Town. The oldest Garden, Park, and Heritage site in South Africa. It was originally created in 1650 reason being to grow and produce fresh food to fill up the ships rounding the cape. It was also the starting point for the 30,000-strong demonstration led by Archbishop Desmond Tutu in 1989 and where Tutu coined the phrase ‘rainbow people’ to describe the diversity of South Africa’s population. The Garden is home to overwhelming famous squirrels, you can purchase a bag of nuts to feed them, one thing kids love is feeding squirrels. The food is to die for as, they serve traditional Capetonian food along with standard lunch, the food is simple but delicious. The Garden is also home to the South African National Gallery, it holds temporary exhibitions by some of the country’s top artists & occasional international artists too. This is a great way to spend a few hours and feed the squirrels, taste the Capetonian food and get to go to an art exhibition at the South African National Gallery.
A 44-year-old both metropolitical church of the Anglican Church of South Africa and a congregation. This church was used as a religious and political seat by the first black archbishop of Cape Town, Desmond Tutu. The late Archbishop Desmond Tutu was internationally known for leading an activist anti-apartheid movement from here, he invited people of all races and backgrounds into this church and for this reason, the cathedral was recognized by many as a symbol of Democracy. The stained glass windows are very appealing and right across is a portion of the Berlin Wall.
A Dutch-Reformed church in Cape Town and the oldest place of Christian Worship in South Africa was built in 1841 by Herman Schuette. This church is the centerpiece of picture square, standing just short of 150ft, the steeple rises from the double transept building while soaring stained glass windows and a high barrel-vaulted ceiling grace the interior.

My wife and I had an unforgettable experience touring Robben Island and Table Mountain yesterday. The trip was well-organized, and every moment was filled with history, breathtaking views, and excellent service. Our tour guide was exceptional—incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing the rich history of Robben Island. He brought the stories to life, giving us a deeper appreciation for the island's significance. At Table Mountain, the views were absolutely stunning. The ride up was smooth, and we had ample time to take in the panoramic scenery. The tour was well-paced, allowing us to enjoy everything without feeling rushed. A special mention to our guide for going above and beyond to assist my wife, who uses a walker. His kindness and attentiveness made a world of difference, ensuring she was comfortable and could fully enjoy the experience. If you're visiting Cape Town, this tour is a must-do! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a mix of history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re so glad to hear that you found the experience both compelling and valuable. Having an actual former prisoner as your guide truly adds a unique and powerful layer to understanding the history of South Africa. We couldn’t agree more—this is definitely a must-do activity for anyone visiting. Thank you for recommending it, and we hope to welcome you back in the future!

Robben Island was great. The tour guide on the bus and the in the prison were very knowledgeable and great captivating speakers. Amiable took us on the city tour afterwards and he was very knowledgeable about the history of cape town and ZAR in general. I would do this tour again for sure.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed both the Robben Island tour and the city tour with Aimable. It’s great to hear that the guides made such an impact. We’d love to have you back anytime!
Overcharged by a HUGE amount by Cape Tours Do NOT use this company Cape Tours to book this tour - they overcharged by 230 GBP!! I really recommend you book direct with Robben Island, and save yourself over 200 GBP! Unfortunately Aim Cape Tours are overcharging by a HUGe amount!! I hope this review can help save you some GBP.
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand how important it is to get good value when booking tours, and we’re sorry to hear you felt overcharged. Our prices include more than just the ferry ticket—they cover comprehensive services such as hotel pick-up and drop-off, knowledgeable guides (many with personal connections to the island), and a hassle-free, well-organized experience. We strive to provide convenience, safety, and a richer tour that goes beyond a simple ferry ride. We appreciate your feedback and encourage all travelers to choose the option that best suits their needs and preferences. Thank you again for your comments. Warm regards,
Meeting the former political prisoner and having a conversation with him. The tour that everyone should experience. Detailing a period of history that should never be forgotten.
Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for your heartfelt feedback. Meeting and conversing with a former political prisoner truly offers a unique and powerful perspective, and we’re glad you found it so meaningful. We wholeheartedly agree that this tour is an important experience that helps keep a crucial part of history alive. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and for being part of this journey with us. Warm regards,
I was a little leery of this tour after reading reviews that described disorganiztion, but our experience was very smooth despite the necessary handoffs. Our Viator guide brought us all to the ferry station, and stayed behind as Robben Island has their own well trained bus tour guides and then ex prisoner guides for the high security prison. Our Viator guide was clearly waiting for us upon return, it was an easy rendezvous. We had lunch at the top of Table Mountain, I would recommend waiting to buy tram tickets until on site, as the trams shut down in heavy winds. Our driver took us to the kiosk which is apparently the best kept secret in the world as there were lines at the ticket booths, but absolutely no one at the kiosk!
Hi Lindy, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and encouraging feedback! We're really glad to hear that your experience went smoothly and that the handoffs were seamless. Our goal is always to ensure guests feel supported throughout the entire tour, and it’s great to know our guide was there for you from start to finish. We also appreciate your tips about Table Mountain and tram tickets—very helpful advice for fellow travelers! It sounds like you had a fantastic day, and we're so pleased to have been part of it. Thank you again for choosing us and for taking the time to share your experience. Warm regards,
We had the best time with our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, Amiable! What makes this tour standout from others is the extra town visits - bo kapp and the gardens and the history of the churches were my faves! The Robben Island tour was informative with previous inmate sharing his personal stories and the history of the island. The table mountain cable car is a must! We were blessed with a stunningly perfect day - not windy and clear skies - it was actually an advantage the tour ticket does not include the cable car tickets as the local weather on top of the mountain is unpredictable so there will be days it will be closed. Plus, the tickets are easy to buy on the day! So yes, I highly recommend this tour, worth every dollar! Kudos to the operators!
Hi there, Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that Amiable made your tour so enjoyable with his friendly and knowledgeable guidance. It’s wonderful that you appreciated the extra visits to Bo-Kaap, the gardens, and the history of the churches — those are truly special parts of Cape Town’s story. We’re also glad the Robben Island tour with the former inmate’s personal stories left a meaningful impression, and that you had perfect weather for the Table Mountain cable car. Your tip about the cable car tickets and weather is very helpful for future guests! Thank you for recommending the tour so highly — it means a lot to us and the entire team. Warm regards,
