Vantage Point of NYC History

We visited Rise NY museum and experience the first evening of our stay in NYC to get a broad overview of NYC and American history in an efficient and memorable package. The museum presentation and experience is well done and has the right mix of exhibits and depth to keep both knowledgeable and new individuals engaged with the history of NYC's rise from its founding. The Alexander Hamilton and final view exhibits stood out to me as on par with something out of MGM studios in Walt Disney world. Pictures at the torch on the way out were a nice touch as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rise NY to anyone wanting to learn and experience history.

It has a surprise

My entire group had an amazing time. There was some much to interact with. I learned a few knew things about the great New Year Eve ball drop. The grand finale of the exhibit was amazing.

Fun but somewhat underwhelming.

It was overall a good experience, but we expected the soaring portion to be a little longer. The exhibits were very informative, we just weren't sure how much time we had to go through them. It would be helpful to have a little more guidance on the first part of the tour. Also, the elevator and waiting to the 2nd soaring part was too drawn out.

A different kind of experience but well worth it

This is a different kind of New York experience. It is definitely not a skyscraper experience but you do go up high at the end! It is split into 3 parts - the first is as if on a subway ride through the city's history, followed by seven immersive galleries but the best is saved until last when you are lifted 40 feet into the air on a soaring 4D ride, flying over all five boroughs through a year of celebrations. There is even snow falling on you during the Christmas part of the ride. As Brits, we did not recognise all the references in the seven galleries but we thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience and would recommend it. We would have been happy to do the end ride again and again.

NYC day trip

The trip was extremely hectic. Some of the subway tracks that we needed to take to get to our destinations were closed for the weekend and we have no idea we’re Taurus so we need to run here and there with the kids and it was exhausting. the kids were annoyed. But at the end of the day we made it to at least one of the attractions which it was the rise of New York. We made it to that one, although we lost a lot of money, which is Ludacris today because we never made it to the other attractions on time because we were so lost with the subway being shut down for the weekend. I would recommend your site to friends however I would let them know that somehow when they get there, they need to find out which subways are shut down for the weekend. I don’t even know how we can figure that one out when we are not New Yorkers.

Superb Adventure

A fun way to take in the sights of NYC while being educational! Give yourself at least an hour to truly take in the content of the museum before flying around NYC!

So Sad

I went to the corner of 8th and 42nd where it used to leave from. I missed the tour and am very sad about that. I am here for two weeks so can I please come again. I desperately want to do The Ride. Loved it 2 years ago.
