Excellent value for money. Unique in Bayeux. Not to be missed.

Unique organization offering a guided walking tour of the historic district of Bayeux in French. Marie-Noëlle is a knowledgeable, professional guide who loves her city and shares its most beautiful spots, with a wealth of historical details. We spent two delightful hours with her, and since our tour was private, she did not hesitate to change her itinerary to take us to the cathedral and show us the splendor of this building. We highly recommend her.

Private tour is the way to go

We really enjoyed this private walking tour. Our guide Christele was one of the best guides she knew all the history of Bayeux and explained it perfectly! Doing this tour privately was the best way to see and learn about the area. Thank you Christele for having such a passion for what you do! You taught me so mush

A windy day in Bayeux.

Outstanding experience. A cold, windy day. Our guide was fluent in English, knowledgeable, and truly in love with Bayeux. A highlight of our trip to Normandy was this tour. Highly, highly recommended.

Operator response

Indeed a typical windy Normandy weather shouldn't deter us from a very enjoyable tour! You were real troopers, bracing the cold and keeping your smile. Thankfully your tour being private, it allowed for a detour to the . Just what we all needed, not to mention seeing the lacemaker's work. :-) I was very grateful for your resilience and the keen interest you showed to my commentary. Wishing you the best.

Exceptional tour with Christele

Christele was an excellent guide. She spoke English very well and had great sense of humor. The history of the area was well explained and provided great context for all the sites. This walk was the best walking tour of our 14 day trip!!

Operator response

All these compliments! You’re really too kind! Yes it is important for us to provide an informative but also cheerful tour. Each site of Bayeux is an opportunity to provide historical explanations. Again, I do heartily thank you for your kind words. :-)

History of Bayeux

We took this tour on our 4th day in Bayeux. So we had seen the city but not understood the historical significance of the city. Christele changed that for us. She is a charming and knowledgeable guide. Not only was she great at the history but she provided insights through the eyes of an art historian. She took us through history from the Middle Ages to today inside the very small area of Bayeux. Because of the rain we opted not venture out to the British cemetery but she described why that area is of importance to the people here (the liberation and De Gaulle). It's good to know how the future is molded by the past. Unfortunately the Tapestry museum had just closed for a 2 year period to allow for a new building to be constructed. So we had a full tour of the cathedral. Private tours are really the better option if you want to know what you are seeing. Thank you, Christele.
