As we travel from Cape Agulhas, we will stop in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley just inland from Hermanus. This valley is known for its wineries, and we recommend a tasting at either Creation Wine Estate or Hamilton Russell Vineyards. Hermanus is also a prime spot for whale watching during the season from June to November, so keep an eye out for southern right whales along the coastline. For lunch, the seaside restaurants in Hermanus offer scenic views and delicious cuisine. Let us know if you would like assistance booking a restaurant reservation.
On our return trip to Cape Town from Hermanus and Cape Agulhas, we will stop at Stony Point Penguin Colony to visit these charming sea birds. Stony Point hosts one of the largest penguin colonies in South Africa.
On a day trip to Cape Agulhas from Cape Town, walk along the pathway to where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans officially meet. I spent two wonderful days in South Africa under the careful guidance of Paul. My friend and I went to Cape Agulhas, we had the shark diving experience in Gansbaai and finally the whale watching in Hermanus, always followed by Paul with explanations and reassurances like a real expert.
