Explore the enchanting Quinta da Regaleira, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its mystical gardens, hidden tunnels, and the iconic Initiation Well. Wander through romantic terraces, fountains, and chapels while discovering the symbolism and legends that make this palace and estate one of Sintra’s most magical attractions. You can opt to visit another Sintra monument and sightsee from outside this one. Admission fee is a maximum of 20 €
Take in the beauty of Palácio de Monserrate from carefully selected viewpoints, admiring its exotic architectural style, lush gardens, and stunning landscape setting. This palace can be chosen as one of the monuments to visit, offering a chance to appreciate its unique blend of Gothic, Indian, and Moorish influences while capturing memorable photos.

We had a memorable day visiting Pena Palace, Sintra and Quinta da Regalaira. Our guide Jose, was kind, positive and very knowledgeable. He not only explained the history and significance of the stops along the way, but also complemented with videos and photographs. The lines to visit the inside of the palace were long, we were glad we skipped it and visited the gardens. Quinta de Regalaira was much bigger than we anticipated, and it was mesmerizing. We had enough time to visit the National Palace, and truly enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant Jose arranged for us. Lunch was outside of Sintra and at a restaurant where locals eat, the fish and the octopus were fresh and cooked to perfection. All in all, we can't take Jose enough for being our guide and sharing part of his country's history with us. Also, given the traffic and the amount of tourists around us, we believe this was the smartest way to visit this part of Portugal.
Pedro was so wonderful and accommodating. He tailored the tour to meet our needs. He was a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the history of the area. Would highly recommend!
If you want to get a great feel for Portugal and learn about its wonderful history, this is the experience for you.

This was without a doubt the best tour that we have taken in our travels. Pedro is an incredibly kind and thoughtful tour guide who went far above and beyond our expectations to create an experience that was perfect for us!

Antonio gave us a fantastic tour as well as introduction to Portugal’s history. He took us to some wonderfully unique places that we would have never known to even consider visiting while in Portugal. Honestly, the side excursions that we saw along way were often better than the planned highlights that all tourists come to see. It was an incredible experience to see actual places where locals love and dine rather than get the generic touring experience that one gets on a bigger bus tour. This tour was private and gave us views few first time travelers ever see that were most definitely worth while.
Thank you so much for sharing this thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear that Antonio provided such a fantastic tour and meaningful introduction to Portugal’s history. We always try to run tours that go beyond the popular tourist spots and show you the true Portugal!
Jose is a brilliant, fun, engaging guide. We felt as if we were visiting a close friend who was taking us around to all his favorite and best spots. Jose shared wonderful fun stories on the history of the area and places we visited - Pena Palace, Sintra, Cascais, and more. He never rushed us, but encouraged us to take our time and see all we wanted to see. We’re already planning another trip to Portugal and will be contacting Jose again!

John was an amazing tour guide! He was so knowledgeable of the area! He was flexible throughout the day, able to pivot when needed based on our requests. John was personable & interested in sharing information, but not overkill. Stopped at a great restaurant by the beach for lunch! He had a nice clean vehicle which took to the roads beautifully. Totally recommend John!
