During this tour you get the opportunity to see outside of Siem Reap and this private tour picks you up and takes you out to Preah Khan kompong Svay in late 12th century by King Suryavaman VII and about 100km from Angkor wat after we move to the 7th century temples at Sambor Prei Kuk. These limestone temples are even older than those by Angkor Wat, and were built by King Citrasena Mahendravarman of Funan in the pre-Angkorian era. Aside from their age and fascinating history, some of the temples are covered in tree roots—making for excellent photos—and your guide will tell you all about the area's ancient past.. You will learn about local culture and food from your guide and the stunning countryside.

Spean Praptos on the road from Angkor to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, used to be the longest corbeled stone-arch bridge in the world, with more than twenty narrow arches spanning 285 ft. The bridge was built in the 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII.
Chaktomuk Temple, a unique ancient Buddhist shrine in Cambodia, is gradually regaining its popularity as a heritage site destination as more tourists visit the attraction following its restoration.
The archeological complex of Preah Khan of Kampong Svay or Prasat Bakan (according to local pronunciation) or Bakan Svay Rolay is located 100 km east of Angkor, in Preah Vihear province, Cambodia. It stands as the largest single religious complex ever built during Angkorian Era, as its exterior enclosure is over 22 km square, even if the isolated location makes it one of the less-visited Angkorian sites.
The archaeological site of Sambor Prei Kuk, “the temple in the richness of the forest” in the Khmer language, has been identified as Ishanapura, the capital of the Chenla Empire that flourished in the late 6th and early 7th centuries AD. The property comprises more than a hundred temples, ten of which are octagonal, unique specimens of their genre in South-East Asia. Decorated sandstone elements in the site are characteristic of the pre-Angkor decorative idiom, known as the Sambor Prei Kuk Style. Some of these elements, including lintels, pediments and colonnades, are true masterpieces. The art and architecture developed here became models for other parts of the region and lay the ground for the unique Khmer style of the Angkor period.

<p>Firstly it was listed as 5 hrs and we only got 3-also my driver communicated with me but the other driver spoke very little english with my travelling companion and so the other tourist received no information and no conversation so she missed out on alot. Our helmet visors were disgusting dirty and we couldnt see clearly and mine would not stay up so I could see properly-This was not a food tour we only stopped once on the side of the road to have one meal for dinner-we didnt do side streets and back alley ways- we were more on dirt roads in the countryside which was fine if afterwards we had then done the food tour. Very expensive for very little reward.</p>
I had a great day with Sopheak, he made my day perfect! If you plan to stay in Cambodja you should definietly take a tour with him. Thanks alot, i'll be back! OBS. Be carefull what you eat and drink, i think it was the risewine that got my stumach turn inside out...
