Admission included60 min

The Royal Palace is one of Phnom Penh’s most splendid architectural achievements. It is home to His Majesty Preah Bat smdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk and Her Majesty Preah Reach Akka-Mohesey Norodom Monineath.

Admission included60 min

Next, head to Silver Pagoda in Phnom Penh is such a phenomenal area in Cambodia filled with hundreds of years of history. The sculptures and sheer construction of the palace leaves even the most seasoned traveler in awe because of the stunning structure. The Silver Pagoda is considered grand and magnificent because there is no other place in the world where you can see such significant spectacles of historical treasures

Admission included60 min

You will visit National Museum.Cambodia's National Museum offers a charming setting for a stunning collection of ancient Khmer art.Predominantly constructed of sandstone, the sculptures date from both the Angkorean and pre-Angkorean eras. These exhibits are complemented by more recent examples of Cambodian art.The museum is housed in a terra-cotta-roofed structure of traditional Cambodian design, which was built between 1917 and 1920

Admission included60 min

Next up,you visit Wat Phnom. The temple has a strong connection with establishment of the capital city of Cambodia. The current name of the city Phnom-Penh in native language means literally the hill of Ms. Penh.

Admission included60 min

Continue to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum was one of hundreds of detention and interrogation centers created all over Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge who gave the former high school the sinisterly innocuous name S-21 where countless thousands of Cambodians were ruthlessly processed until they were dead.

Admission included60 min

After lunch at your own cost you will visit Choeung Ek Genocidal Center. It represents one of the all too frequent dark periods in world history, this one between 1975 to1979.During these four years of awful civil war an estimated 1.7 million people were massacred. This place of incredible tragedy has today been sensitively converted into a peaceful visitors’ centre and the disturbing story is retold;we are walking across the very ground where nearly 20,000 Cambodians were murdered.Even today, following periods of heavy rain, fragments of clothing and bones from victims will surface through the mud.

Admission included60 min

Next you will visit Wat Ounalom.Wat Ounalom is the home to the Buddhist patriarch and is reputedly the oldest Buddhist foundation in the city.

Admission included60 min

You will head to Russian Market.Russian Market is the most popular market among tourists and expats and the best place to pick up souvenirs. Russian market is known to the locals as Phsar Toul Tom Poung. The reason why it is called Russian market is because it was a popular market among the Russian expats during the 1980s when most of the western expats in Phnom Penh were Russian. At approximately 06:00 pm,you'll arrive back at your hotel in Phnom Penh city where the tour will end.

10 min

Lasting Memories

An enjoyable and interesting day. Seeing the Killing Fields and the Prison was an experience we will never forget and made us appreciate how terrifying that period of Cambodia's history must have been. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I would happily recommend this tour.

Terrible

Tour booked on TripAdvisor with tickets and itinerary confirmation received. Friendly and helpful Guide Sing arrived at hotel on time as agreed and visited Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda as planned. We were then taken on a boat trip and a horrendous “tour” literally on the back of a horse and cart..with no protection in 42c heat getting back to the boat after 30 minutes sunburnt, mosquito bitten and bruised from being dragged around literally on a cart. The only funny thing was all the locals driving past absolutely laughing their heads off as they waved hurtling past ..why wouldn’t they!!. We then got back to Phnom Penh side of river to be told by the guide (note the Mam holidays tour company use government guides)that we wouldn’t be going to Choeung Ek Genocidal centre (Killing Fields memorial) as that was not the tour the guide had been given (confirmed and I saw on his phone). The guide was really helpful but was told he could not take us to Choeung Ek ..I even spoke to them and showed the paid confirmation ticket and itinerary which the guide shared with his company ..still no. During this time tried calling the Mam Holidays support number which just rang and rang. Choeung Ek was the main reason of the Phnom Penh visit and was only a 24 hour visit before going on to Siem Reap same evening. Ended up going back to hotel and making own Emergrncy arrangements to get down to Choeung Ek so didn’t miss the opportunity. Booked 4 tours in Brunei and Vietnam before arriving in Phnom Penh..all brilliant and to plan. Inevitably things sometimes go wrong on trips but just makes you very unhappy when you spend so much time planning so it doesn’t. pictures from happy part of tour.

Very Good and Very Informative

We booked this tour on online and our experience with MAM Holidays was excellent. Kept us informed all the way. Mr Channy was our guide and he was great. Unfortunately I cannot remember our drivers name but he was also a very nice and friendly gentleman. They arrived at our hotel on time and made sure we get back on-time as we requested as well. The actual tour was very good but the highlights was the killing fields and prison and whilst I say highlight it is also very emotional, but Mr Channy made sure we comfortable and fully informed all the time. We opted not to do a lunch but you can actually skip the Russian Market and National Museum (we did not enjoy them that much) and go for a nice lunch.

Wonderful tour with an amazing tour...

Wonderful tour with an amazing tour guide Dara. Although the killing fields and S21 interrogation school is very harrowing to view it is a huge part of Cambodia's history and Dara did not hold back on answering some very personal questions regarding his family's history as well as the history of the country. All of the sites from the Royal Palace through to Wat Phnom were interesting and unique and having Dara as our guide added a greater depth of understanding. As we are not shoppers we skipped the markets and spent more time at other sites plus a great cafe for lunch - Browns Coffee Cafe. We have never had a personal guide for tours before but were pleased we spent the extra for this tour especially been able to have Dara as our guide. Highly recommended.

This tour was a nice way of placing...

This tour was a nice way of placing most of the sights in Phnom penn together but I felt my tour guide didn't give us the story behind the s21 prison and left us to see the national museum on our own. We had to hire headsets to get an overview of what we were seeing which cost us an extra 5 each when we should have been told by our guide the history of the artefacts we were seeing. In the S21 prison we even missed a whole floor of important information in relation to the Khmer rouge crimes as we were told there was nothing to see there. As we didn't get the information of the crimes committed and the details we needed to understand the atrocities we ended up spending extra time in the prison to read the boards as the guide was not giving us the information. When probed about simple questions she managed to give us inaccurate information which led us to think she was not knowledgable in the attractions we were seeing. We were told there was not enough time to see the Russian market because we had spent a little longer in S21! A bit overpriced for what it is.
