Mount Rushmore is more than just the carvings. They have secrets that are not easily revealed. GeoFunTrek's guides are local experts with decades of experience. We have no seasonal guides, part-time guides or trainees. This is a family-owned business and all tours are conducted by family members: Cindy, Christopher and John Esposti. We have the knowledge and skills to make your day one to remember. You will always get the A-team when you tour with GeoFunTrek Tours! All tours are PRIVATE TOURS, exclusive to the group booking the tour, and no additional guests will be included. Children must be accompanied by one adult. Children 3 years and younger are free and will have their own seat. Children's car seats must be supplied by family members when required. Our vehicles are SUV's, and a larger vehicle (van) may be rented for larger groups. This is a great tour for 3-generation families with Children, multiple couples and groups of friends.

Itinerary
You will enjoy a personalized guided tour of the Shrine of Democracy with a local expert. Visit the Sculptor's Studio, Presidential Trail and Visitor Center.
Experience a personalize tour with your own local expert and learn the history of the warrior and memorial.
Drive through the 71,000 acre park making frequent stop at the sites of your choosing. Take short hikes and visit the lodges or visitor facilities of your choice. Areas included are the Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road and the Wildlife Loop Road.

We pick up and drop-off at all lodging establishments in the Keystone, SD, Rapid City, SD and Hill City, SD area including campgrounds, B & B's, VRBO'.s, etc. Let us know if you are staying further away and we will make arrangements.

- GEOFUNTREK TOURS SAFETY UPDATE COVID-19 Your comfort and safety are our primary concern. Take a private tour, limited to your group only and enjoy the day. We have only three guides: John, Chris & Cindy. They are family members from the same household. They constantly monitor each other’s health. So even when not at work “THE BOSS” is always watching.
- We do not have vehicles with a wheelchair lift. We can accommodate a folding wheechair and the guest must be able to enter and exit the vehicle on their own. We will gladly assist with any needed assistance and pushing.

The most incredible private tour we have ever had .. John was so knowledgeable and patient heared the trip around our desires.There was no rush.. Is knowledge of geological history along with wonderful trivia about all the places we saw, including his connections with the community, was off the charts.. Not taking a private tour with him would be a loss for you

Chris was on time, friendly, and knowledgeable. The car was clean and comfortable. We were offered as much time as we needed at each stop to fully enjoy our tour. This was a wonderfully memorable experience!
This tour was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish!! A bucket list item for many years and we were not disappointed!! Our guide, Chris, was exceptional..request him!! His voice alone was worth the price of admission. He needs to be on the radio! He is very professional and beyond knowledgeable about the area! He took us to places off the beaten path and away from the crowds to get the best kept secret views and pictures of Mount Rushmore and very little crowds. There is nothing better than doing the unexpected and ours happened to be feeding a field of donkeys carrots and apples. Highly recommended must do while in this beautiful and historical area!!

John was absolutely amazing! This tour, though expensive, is definitely worth it: in more than 8 hours we drove through the most beautiful and meaningful areas of the Black Hills, and all at our own pace, with no pressure. John was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable on all aspects, from geology to history, to mother nature's miracles. Exploring up close Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments and hearing their stories was inspiring. In Custer State Park we spotted up close hundreds of bisons, a coyote, many groundhogs, pronghorns... The beauty of all of this will stay in us for a long, long time.
