Lake Balaton is the essence of Hungarian rural beauty. Hungary's version of Provance. You will enjoy stunning views, tiny villages with century-old whitewashed houses, and amazing formations of nature. We will pass the beautifully renovated Abbey of Tihany, which was founded 1000 years ago. For 8 euros per person we can look at the fancy baroque interior. The tour is filled with beauties, interesting history and (if you opt in by sending us a message) very good wine! The views, the great gastronomy, the fresh wines, the charm of the villages and the historical and architectural heritage of the region are all good reasons to make a trip here. Would you like a different starting time? It is possible to start the tour anywhere between 6 AM to 11 PM. Just send us a message after booking, if you want a different starting time.

Itinerary
This tour is the most beautiful right now. Beautiful spring colors, with lots of flowers, perfect weather. First stop: we stop at a beautiful, scenic spot at the Balaton lake. This is usually a short 5-10 minutes stop. The 90 minutes time indicated includes the travel time too.
An unforgettable view of Lake Balaton. The lake is most beautiful during October, with amazing autumn colours, especially on sunny days.
We then drive you to Balatonfüred to see this noble town with lots of mansions and a picturesque promenade. The pretty centre and the beautiful villas and mansions will very likely steal your heart!
Walking the streets of the most beautiful village in Hungary. You can also try the famous products of the region, such as lavender beer, lavender lemonade, lavender chocolate, lavender gelato....
The monastery was founded almost a thousand years ago. We can look at the beautifully decorated baroque church. from the inside too if we buy a ticket. (8 euros per person.) This also gives us the opportunity to look at the exhibition about the history of the abbey.
On the way home we go on the ferry that crosses the lake.

Auti was right on time picking us up at our hotel. He was a great driver and told us interesting things about Hungary. We had a lovely lunch overlooking Lake Balaton in Tihanyi a beautiful village where lavender grows. The village was nice to walk around and the monastery was a beautiful sight as well. For those who want to briefly and thoroughly know the area of Lake Balton, this is the way. A trip of just over an hour, boarding the car on a ferry, visiting the major towns of the peninsula, Tiananmen and Baltonford. In October this was a time off for a seaside holiday that was quite cold. But the throwing colors are lovely. The driver Attila was excellent. Recommended a restaurant among the groves. It was great. Not very expensive. Drive carefully and safely.

We had the most amazing experience with our guide, Balazs, on a day trip from Budapest to Lake Balaton. He picked us up in his beautifully restored 1965 mint green Volvo, which was such a unique and fun way to start the journey. Driving through Hungary in this epic classic car made us feel like celebrities — even coming from Hollywood, California, people were snapping photos of us everywhere we went! Balazs is a fantastic guide – knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing his local history and culture. Along the way, he gave us fascinating insights into both Budapest and Balaton, and he always made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. He took us to the most gorgeous lunch spot at Echo in Balaton, where the food and views were equally incredible. We crossed the lake, drank fresh sparkling water straight from the ground, and even watched the graceful brown swans. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen and special. What really stood out was Balazs himself – friendly, personal, and accommodating to our requests, always going the extra mile to make the day perfect. By the end, it felt like we were exploring with a friend rather than just a guide. This tour was truly a highlight of our time in Hungary, and we can’t recommend Balazs highly enough!

Our family had a fantastic tour to Lake Balaton. The lake is lovely and our guide was fantastic. He changed the tour up and took us to a winery bc we said we like wine. He was so nice to my son and a great guide. He took us to a lovely restaurant on the lake. We all really enjoyed the day.
