The Tijuca Forest, or Floresta da Tijuca, is a magnificent tropical rainforest located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is one of the largest urban forests in the world, covering an area of approximately 32 square kilometers within the boundaries of the Tijuca National Park. Originally cleared for coffee plantations in the 19th century, the Tijuca Forest underwent a massive reforestation effort and was declared a national park in 1961. Today, it stands as a remarkable testament to environmental restoration and conservation.
Ilha da Gigoia, also known as Gigoia Island, is a hidden gem located in the Barra da Tijuca neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is a small, car-free island nestled within the Jacarepaguá Lagoon, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. The island is also known for its culinary scene, offering a variety of lunch options ranging from traditional Brazilian cuisine to international flavors. Visitors can savor fresh seafood dishes, sip on refreshing drinks, or simply relax at one of the cozy cafes while taking in the serene views of the lagoon. Tour was tailored to our interests and time frame. Guide had excellent English skills and much knowledge of Brazilian history. Very personable was willing to take photos and wait while we had coffee at the Copacabana Palace after touring Christ Redeemer statue. He also watched out for us and kept us safe when a scuffle among street vendors arose close by. Safe, calm and prudent driver at all times. Dropped us off at place we requested in order to shop in Ipanema after tour. Overall excellent experience thank you!

I had a lovely afternoon visiting Rio in spite of the rain. The tour guide Rodrigo was very nice, friendly and professional. He gave me a lot of information about the city and other parts of Brazil. I didn’t make it easy for him because I have been to Rio many times and have seen most things, but he managed to show me some spots and views I haven’t seen before and gave me a few ideas for future trips.

Great time! Went to the tijuca forest, and sugar loaf. Experienced guide provided info on various things. Also a great phone photographer and took a bunch of pics for us. Eduardo was very accommodating for our group with different pick up and drop offs.

Fabulous and efficient private tour with Jamir (not sure of spelling). He suggested we start our tour early at 7am to avoid the crowds. Great idea! We were able to see more than expected in 5 hours. Highly recommend. Our guide was prompt and efficient and welcoming. Everything we enjoy with a tour.

Had an amazing time with my guide Sylvio. We went to many local and more well known spots throughout Rio. We went to Pedra Bonita, Tijuca Forest-caves, cascades, Vista Chinesa. Ilha de Gigóia , Flamengo museum. Sylvio can take hikers of any level. He is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. He works very hard and he is prompt and efficient. I felt safe the entire day. Highly recommend.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. Our guide, Jalmir, was so knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Having a tour guide will take you to the front of lines and you get the most out of your money. Our guide was our personal driver, educator, translator, and photographer. I guarantee we saved money on Ubers, tickets (he found out there were student discounts), and the family pictures that the parks try to sell you. When we were finishing up, he gave recommendations for the best restaurants and places to shop later. I’d definitely use this company again.
