Founded by 9 x South African Surfing Champion Roxy Davis, we are renowned not only for the quality of our equipment and coaching, but even more for the overall sense of community. Everyone is welcome to come and share the stoke with us; whether it is something you are thinking about trying for the first time or something you have loved for years. Muizenberg is rated one of the safest beaches to learn to surf, the gentle gradient of the sand bank makes for fantastic soft rolling waves which give the learner surfer plenty of time to get their feet... Round off your lesson experience with a browse through our retail store and chat to our team who are happy to share their knowledge and experience on surfing and other attractions in the area. We also have a Vida e Caffè (all under one roof) :)

This was a really great lesson for an absolute beginner like me. My lesson was with a woman I believe by name of Nera and she was very patient and encouraging. She showed me the basic techniques I needed. It was great to have a private lesson because as someone who knows nothing about surfing, I tried one group lesson before and it did not go well and I got left behind because everyone had more experience even though the lesson had said for beginners. If you’re a beginner a private lesson is a must so you can at least get the basics down. But while she showed me the basic techniques on the beach she didn’t take too much time on the beach and we were in the water soon after practicing them. I felt safe with her as she guided me through each step. A tip for beginners is to do the morning session at 10a rather than the later option because the morning is when the waves were lightest. Towards the end of my session at around 11:30a the waves had really picked up and more surfers started to show up making surfing more difficult for a beginner. Luckily by then the session was pretty much over. Also note that you will probably be really sore after from using all of your muscles but it is a great workout and a fun experience. Learning to surf has been on my bucket list and I’m glad I got to do a private surf lesson because it being private made all the difference for me compared to when I tried to do a group one before. The showers are basic and you need to bring your own towel and products but they provide you with a wet suit.
Outstanding experience with instructor Jordan. I was impressed from the start when Jordan took me through a warm up routine before the start of the session. As a fitness enthusiast I know the importance of a good warm up. Jordan was very good at explaining the actions I need to do as a beginner and supporting me in the water. I was surprised to catch so many waves on the day as a novice. The guys at the shop very friendly and welcoming. The setup was great with changing and warm shower facilities. They had a system to store valuables and lockers for bags. The surfing suits were in great condition.
We had a wonderful lesson with Luka. He was very infinitive and was able to help us both learn the basics of surfing. It was a blast. The facility had a nice shower area and was well organized
I booked the session for my granddaughter, 9 and myself. What an amazing experience. Both coaches were very patient and professional. So much attention to detail! We loved it so much that we have booked 4 more sessions! Highly recommend!
We have booked a course for 1 adult and 1 child. With child no other person can participate. In itself very reasonable and welcome if you are standing in the shop and then no other surf instructor is available, that is maximally unfortunate! Either it should not be possible to book for several people or there must be enough teachers available according to the booking! In addition, no toilets and showers were usable on site.
Good morning Nadine, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we are very disappointed to hear that your lesson was not handled properly on the day. Generally we do prefer to split adults and children under 10 as the coach will only be able to go as deep as the child is comfortable to go. They team instore should have gone ahead with a separate coach for you. To facilitate this type of solution at short notice, our policy is that every staff member instore learn to coach and that they conduct the lessons themselves where necessary. There were more than enough staff on duty for someone to have gone into the water as your coach so that you went ahead with your lesson at the same time. There is no indication on your booking record instore that you did not join in the lesson, which is also not in line with our booking protocols, There is no excuse for what occurred and had I become aware of this earlier we would definitely have invited you both back for a complimentary lesson. We will be addressing the matter with the staff members who were on duty to ensure that this never happens again. As your lesson was in January and I am sure you are already back home, we will be processing a full refund. With regards to the restricted access to the showers and bathrooms, a council pipe had burst and water to the entire area was turned off. Water supply was only restored at 19:20 that evening. Please accept our sincere apologies for failing to deliver the experience you were expecting, we dropped the ball and we will be taking the necessary steps to ensure that our standard is upheld by the staff concerned in future. If you do find yourself in Cape Town again, please do come in and we love provide the experience on a complimentary basis. Kind regards Samantha

It was super fun, it was our firts time and we can almost surf on our own. It is a great activity for other couples.
Messed up the date and time and they were very accommodating. Great lesson, good length, instructor was really accommodating of what I was able to do and got me up on the board!
