Itinerary
We’ll take you on a scenic ride through the Zadar channel and in between the islands of Ugljan and Pašman towards Dugi otok. Once we get to Dugi otok, we’ll have a quick break, just to get you accustomed to the slow pace of life on Croatian islands. We can have an ice cream, coffee or a cold drink before we proceed towards a small island in front of Dugi otok, whose name we choose to keep a secret. Beautiful, small and sandy bay, surrounded by wild nature, is a big secret of the area. Expect no one around, you can camp underneath the olive trees or chill on the boat under the canopy and enjoy the turquoise sea. Once you had enough of this paradise, we start heading towards our second destination on the island of Iž. On the way towards the island of Iž you’ll see all the beauties of Zadar archipelago from the boat, the scenic ride will uncover islands of Rava, Ugljan, Žut, Sit, before hitting a perfectly secluded bay on Iž island. We’ll enjoy some snorkelling and swimming from the boat, while the music from the sound system overpowers the sound of the crickets from the pine forest surrounding us. We'll visit Mali Iž, which is an exceptional example of traditional croatian island village. You can choose to have luch tehere in a very good, and a very, very local restaurant. Last, but not the least, is a sandy bay on the uninhabited side of Ugljan Island. Indeed a great place to finish your "three grains of sand tour", shallow water, pristine white sand for some more fun and games in the beautiful little bay. Sit down and unwind in the Olive Gardens, or under the pine trees and soak in the real Adriatic experience before you proceed back to Zadar. This tour lasts a minimum 6 hours and can last more for your enjoyment.

I was really looking forward to this excursion with my family. Communication was great from Lisa and Ivan. They accommodated the pick up and moved up the time so we could see three swimming spots. The pick up by the cruise terminal would cost us 200 euro cash. The pick up time suggested by Ivan was 8 am and at the Petrol gas station by the cruise terminal. I even checked in with them before leaving for the cruise and the night before regarding location and pick up time. At 08:15 the day of - no one was there. We called Roko, the guide, woke him up. He was told it was 9am. Indeed, he did not get the message. I think this set the tone for the rest of the trip. He was not on his A game. He was not what I expected of a private tour guide. No effort to tell us of the areas we were seeing or going. No interesting history or facts of the area. We just got taken to these two swimming spots. The water was refreshing, but disappointed there was not much variety of underwater fishes. Riki then took us to the restaurant. Be forewarned - you need euros! No credit card. A platter of fish for two will cost 65 euros and then you have to buy side dishes, which is another 5-6 euros. So on average figure 25- 35 euros per person. We found out as we sit down for lunch, my son had asked where will we be going after this. Roko then tells us that that the boat is not working and will need to wait for another. Needless to say, we did not have enough time to go to a third spot and was rushed back to the pick up spot by the cruise terminal. With minutes to spare. So thank you Roko for getting us back on time. Ivan discounted 50 euros for our inconvenience. I am sorry to say this was not the excursion I had anticipated for so long.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that you had less-than-perfect service on our tour. We apologize for any inconvenience or discomfort it may have caused. Please accept our sincere apologies regarding being late in the morning, it was a mixup which rarely happens. We must add that none of the services we provide were disrupted due to the minor malfunction of the boat since we replaced the boats during your lunchtime. The pickup by the cruise terminal did not cost 200 euro. The surcharge for fuel cost 160 euro, while the pickup fee cost 40 euro. Anyway, very sorry for the inconvenience caused, hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.
The tour was great but a surprise surcharge practically ruined it all for us! Our tour guide Rocco was fantastic and took us to some wonderful places, but some of them only took cash payments and upcharged ATMs were very frustrating. Be sure to bring plenty of Euros! Also, there was a required fuel charge of €160 that was never communicated or confirmed with us. The skipper, Rocco, told us that usually the company sends a reminder email, which I never received. I even checked spam! Despite their mistake, they made us pay which felt very unfair and was quite upsetting. So, just be aware of that! I would say prepare to bring upwards of €300, if not more.
Dear Virginia, I am sorry to hear about the misunderstanding. The surcharge is clearly shown on the product page and it was sent to you as important info together with the skipper info a day before the tour via Viator messaging information.
We (family of 4 adults) had a great day on the boat. We arrived via NCL cruise ship. Everything was on time and new concerns about missing our boat. Our captain made recommendations of where to go. We had a great stop in Sali. Had delicious bakery items and pizza while there as well as some great souvenirs. The beaches in Zadar are rocky, but the boat anchored and we jumped in for a swim in a few different spots. It was early June and the spring had been cool, so the water wasn't too warm, yet.
Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with us. We're thrilled you enjoyed our tour with Speed Boat Zadar
We had a great day on the sea with Blaz. We visited three beautiful and secluded swimming spots in the islands around Zadar and visited an excellent restaurant for lunch. Very special to be swimming in the sea on such a glorious day. Thanks for a fun day!

Fun boat experience!! Marko is so great! Exploring the big (veli) and small (mali) islands of Iz was incredible! Swimming in bays and spending time in the sun! Lunch at Mandrac was the jewel of the day!
Our speedboat adventure with Captain Tony was amazing. Words cannot express the beauty of Croatia’s Adriatic Sea. This speedboat adventure is worth every penny spent. It’s such a thrill to jump or dive off the boat into the most clear blue water you’ve ever seen. Tony was genuinely kind and made sure that our experience was tailored to our wishes. This experience is one of the best in my life. I loved the fact that I got to share this with my husband, daughter, son in law and 3 grandkids. Again, this was heavenly and then some.
My group had an amazing time on this tour. Our skipper was knowledgeable and approachable, and went out of his way to make the best of the experience (we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins!) The ride was comfortable, the chosen locations were stunning and private, and the lunch place that was recommended served amazing food. There was also a lot of flexibility with the schedule which made us all really relaxed and able to enjoy the experience at our own pace. All in all a fantastic day trip, just don't forget your sunscreen :)
You haven't seen Croatia until you've seen it from the sea! A cruise through the archipelago coastline is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We choose the "skipper's choice tour" and had a wonderful day with Marko, who was very friendly. We've been to beautiful places apart from the crowed tourist places and we very much enjoyed it. We had a lot of time for swimming, snorkeling, and for exploring the selected small islands. Around lunchtime, Marko took us to an authentic little Croatian restaurant on one of the islands. The food was simple, typical of Croatia and incredibly delicious. Then on the way home Marko spotted dolphins nearby. We had not expected that at all!!! We approached the dolphins very slowly by boat and had plenty of time to watch them. We can fully recommend Speed Boat Zadar. From contact to planning to the turn, everything was very individual to our needs. We were very well taken care of from start to finish. Thank you also to Lisa, who answered all our questions very quickly and patient! The price-performance ratio is fair and fully transparent. We wish Speed Boat Zadar many more great tours with nice guests ;-)! Keep it up!
Great day with a pilot who adapted to our desires for swimming, snorkeling and dining. I definitely recommend this company. Easy parking at Zadar Marina.
The islands are beautiful. Quick replies on any questions you have about the trip. The skipper was professional and friendly as well. It's great that you get to go on an excursion in your own pace. It's amazing if you want some space to yourself (and your friends.
