We had a truly wonderful full-day tour of the Cape with Jean. It was a perfect experience for a family or small group wanting an intimate, personalized tour at their own pace. Right from the start, Jean’s passion for and knowledge of the Cape area and South Africa is immediately apparent, and it makes him a truly exceptional guide. We learned so much from Jean as we travelled from one stop to the next, and are grateful for all the facts and insights that he shared with us. We also really appreciated Jean’s willingness to tailor the tour to our interests and spend more time at some of the spots we were most interested in, like with the penguins at Boulders Beach! He’s also a great photographer, and didn’t miss any opportunities to capture a few photos of us at every stop! Thank you, Jean, for an amazing tour of the Cape area, and for helping us make some truly magical memories during our visit to South Africa!
Dear Valued Client, Thank you so much for sharing your kind words about your tour with Jean. We are delighted to hear that your day exploring the Cape was such a memorable and enriching experience. Jean takes great pride in tailoring each tour to the interests of his guests, and it’s wonderful to know that his passion, knowledge, and thoughtful touches helped make your visit truly unforgettable. We greatly appreciate your feedback and are thrilled that your family enjoyed such a personalized and meaningful journey. We look forward to welcoming you back to South Africa for more adventures in the future. Warm regards, Sue, Golden Eagle T&T team.
What a day!! Jean Marie was an fabulous guide and buddy for the day. From the moment he pulled up to pick us up at our flat to the moment he bid us goodbye Jean was so friendly and warm, incredibly knowledgeable of the region and history of South Africa. He was so wonderful with our two children, 11 and 13, indulging all of their questions along the way. We had beautiful weather for our tour, though incredibly windy and Jean navigated that we'll for the best experience for us. It was so notable to us the way that others (workers and fellow tour guides) he knew at the attractions received him, making it so clear what a genuine person he was.
Dear Catherine, Todd, Grace and Griffin, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous words. I shared your review with Jean, and he was truly thrilled to read it. He mentioned how much Griffin and Grace’s curiosity, flexibility, and even their athletic moves added joy and energy to the day; it motivated him and made the tour all the more enjoyable. Your family’s warmth and friendliness were deeply appreciated, and spending the day together was a privilege. Jean said that your enthusiasm sparked in him a wish to one day guide you up Table Mountain itself: whether by Skeleton Gorge, India Venster, or even the Diving Board Kasteelspoort trails, routes that embody both challenge and beauty. We wish you many more wonderful experiences during the rest of your stay in South Africa. May each journey be as memorable and full of discovery as the one we shared. With gratitude and best wishes, Sue, Golden Eagle Travel and Tours Team.
Jean was the best possible guide for a day long adventure through Cape Town down the peninsula to the penguins and Cape of Good Hope. He gave us a running commentary on the history and significance of the many places we saw on the way. And he handled all the logistics so that we were able to just focus on the beauty of the day! A lovely gentleman we’re glad to have spent the day with!!
Dear Katherine and John, Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words; it was truly a joy to spend the day with you exploring the Cape Peninsula, from the penguins at Boulders Beach to the windswept majesty of Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Your warmth, curiosity, and generosity of spirit made the journey all the more memorable. I especially appreciated the way you shared stories and insights from your own country—it made our exchange feel like a true meeting of worlds. Your relaxed and open-hearted presence brought a beautiful rhythm to the day, and I’m grateful for the ease and kindness you brought to every stop along the way. Wishing you a wonderful and enriching stay here in South Africa. Should your path ever lead you back this way, We would be more than happy to explore more of this land with you. Warm regards, Golden Eagle Team.
Jean-Marie was cheerful, adventurous, knowledgeable, and great at making conversation! My mom and I got more out of this day than we could have ever hoped for. He had all kinds of little stories and tips about the many sites we visited. He was also flexible and adapted the schedule when we wanted to spend more/less time at certain places.

Thank you so much for planning a wonderful tour that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our guide Wesley is very knowledgeable and provided us with ample information for every single listed attraction! We found Cape Town very attractive and we will be back for a much longer stay! A lot to see, a lot do! My highlight was the enchanting penguins and was surprised by baboons climbing a building in Simon’s Town, which building is a military accommodation according to our guide! I highly recommend this tour!
