Our Reflections Professional Guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo by A/C Vehicle to transfer you to Alexandria. First visit Pompay's Pillar. It was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century.
Then take a drive to visit the Catacombs which is the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut into the rock. Now take a break for lunch
journey on to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs ,lighthouse of Alexandria which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
We then journey onto Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which is a major cultural and Library centre After this interesting visit you will be driven back in comfort and safety to your hotel in Cairo.

Had a great trip to Alexandria today. A great way to spend the last day of my holiday in Egypt. Started with guide Sam & driver Mohamed in Cairo heading to Alexandria. First stop was the catacombs, followed by Pompeii's pillar, the citadel and then the library. A good 3.5 hours seeing the essentials of Alexandria without staying here. Obviously if you want you explore more, then stay the night. Sam was a great guide, very knowledgeable, highly recommend.
The trip started okay but we skipped Library in Alexandria to return to Cairo. Guide Amir was good and gave good review of history. Made unnecessary stops at shops that probable paid commissions to the guide.
I highly recommend this tour!! Best tour guide ever! Gouda and Hamada did an amazing job showing us around Alexandria. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible during our stay in Egypt. They assisted us in translating and helping us find a new hotel after our Airbnb was canceled at the last minute. I felt very safe the entire time I was with them! They were very helpful and attentive to all of our needs! Gouda was very informative and answered all our questions at each site. I wish I could have them as a guide for all of my tours in Egypt! If you do any tour in Alexandria, be sure to do this one!
We were so excited when we found out we were going to have Sam for Alexandria!! (We had him for the Cairo tour and just loved him!) Sam has all the great attributes of the best tour guide! He is super knowledgeable about all the different places, history and culture, gives a great layout of what we are doing so we know what to expect, makes sure you can see all you can see, accommodating for our group, pro photographer, knows the good food places and will help you find the recipes for the food you taste and want to make at home! Sam made our day in Alexandria great!
Alexandria was a beautiful city on the Mediterranean Sea. We visited the catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, the Citadel, and the enormous Library of Alexandria. We were glad to have Sam as our guide once again. He did a great job getting us to places of interest.
Our final day in Egypt was spent in Alexandria. What a bonus. Once more Sam was our expert guide taking us to ancient sites tucked in among a modern city.
Alexandria had a chequered history and was subject to diverse influences. There may not be a lot left to see, but what's left is well worth a day of your time: you're not going to see anything like that elsewhere in Egypt. And the best way to do that is with a knowledgeable guide like Mohammed Mahmoud. He not only knows the subject, he also conveys the romance of history. And our thanks to our driver Ahmed, who drove us over 500 km in a day, often in difficult traffic, without giving us a single moment of anxiety.
This trip to Alexandria was fun. The ride was kind of long since I was staying in Giza, but it was definitely worthy. The seafood was unique and tasty, and the places I visited were amazing. My only regret is that I could not enter the Alexandria library since they were only allowing 100 people a day because of COVID I guess (nobody’s fault really). Besides that, everything was great. I also have to add that the tour guide was an excellent photographer. I’ve come to realize most of them are great photographers , but this guy was no exception. I had a blast!
Alexandria is a wonderful city and this one day tour from Cairo is long but packs in all the main sites. After an early morning pickup from the hotel and a long drive, the tour is bookended by two historical sites-in between the catacombs and the cotadel of Quaitbey, you see another historical site in the column of Pompey and you get a ‘tour within a tour’ of the amazing, modern Bibliotheque. I doubt we would have gotten so much out of it if we didn’t have Sam, the guide, informing us about each site and Muhammad, the driver, competently taking us to each destination before (in most cases) the long journey back to Cairo - they were happy to transfer us safely to our Alexandria hotel.
Medhat and Hany were our tour guide and driver from Cairo to Alexandria and back. They were very helpful, making our trip very comfortable. Lunch was delicious.
