Itinerary
We will pick you up from your hotel or any of the location the city of Salzburg
We leave the city of Salzburg driving south to the German boarder, your private guide will explain you the history of the city of Salzburg and how, for many years, it was a independent principality ruled by the catholic church and the importance of salt and how it influenced the growth of the city. Other points of interest will be explained on route to the next location.
On our way to Obersalzberg bus terminal we will have a couple of great picture stops. Your private guide will show you where everything was located between 1933 and 1945. Places such as the Berghof grounds, entrance to the bunkers, SS barracks and much more. After giving you a mental picture and spacial orientation of the mountain, a scale model at the bus terminal will help you understand where everything was located.
Visit the Eagle Nest with your private guide. From the Eagle’s Nest bus terminal. You will board a specially equipped mountain bus for a breath-taking ride up the 4 mile road, with its 27% incline to a rocky plateau. From there we will walk through a 406ft (124 meter) long tunnel, leading us directly to the original WWII brass elevator that will transport you up through the heart of the Kehlstein mountain for another 406ft, straight into the Eagle’s Nest itself. After a tour through the Eagle’s Nest, you will have some free time to enjoy the view or have refreshments.
Descending from Obersalzberg we continue to the beautiful Bavarian mountain town of Berchtesgaden, located in the Koenigssee River valley. You will have time to explore Berchtesgaden on your own, as well as have lunch in one of the typical Bavarian restaurants (lunch not included in price)
Visit the crystal clear water glaciar lake Königsee.

Our tour to Eagles Nest, Berchtesgaden and the Salt Mines was excellent. Carlos was an interesting, informative and amusing guide who went above and beyond. Highly recommended
My husband and I had a fabulous full day private tour with Michael. He was so informative, friendly, and a pleasure to spend the day with. Our tour included the Eagle’s Nest, the Documentation Center, lunch in Berchtesgaden, and a boat ride on Konigsee. The day was spectacular. It was also evident that Michael is knowledgeable about so many other areas and sites. We highly recommend him.
We had a wonderful day tour w/ guide, Michael Toth. As we have found with the locals throughout our trip, Michael was punctual and accommodating and took us on stunning side trips that we would not have known to visit. If this is your first trip to Salzburg, the only way to familiarize yourself w/ the sites and history of the area is with a tour like this. Michael is highly recommended because besides being knowledgeable, he is also just a lot of fun!! Skip the big tour groups and go private! Well worth it!!
Our guide was super informative and knowledgeable. He was pleasant to be with and got us to the front of the lines and gave us hints in where to sit or stand to see things better at each location. He even convinced us to pretend we were Julie Andrews at the Sound of Music hilltop. He even had the music to play for the video of us that he took! It was one of the most memorable days from our 2.5 week trip in all of Europe. I would highly recommend doing this!
Our tour guide, Carlos, was phenomenal! He knew his stuff well and got us to the front of the lines as well as giving us hints as where to sit, stand to see amazing sights. He was enjoyable to spend the day with. I would request him if you can! We didn’t plan on the Sound of Music stop but thoroughly enjoyed it! He even convinced my daughter and I to re-inact the scene with Julia Andrews. We fought him but caved and will cherish it for a lifetime.
