I got collected very on time in the lobby, the driver was already there and when we didn't meet each other he went to the reception to get a passport copy of me in order to know how I look and approached me. As my driver lived near my hotel he collected me first and then collected the guide which added an extra hour to the travel time to Alamein, which would have been nice to know in advance but well. In Alamein we were surprised by continued construction work and given there was no direct way to the military museum I suggested to first view the cemeteries which we followed up on. They are all very touching and absolutely worth a visit. The museum is offering an outside exhibition of military vehicles used and an inside exhibition about the battle of Alamein covered in 5 rooms. It is very self describing and the tour guide was not really needed here. Where I would have needed the tour guide - e.g. the information that the museum will close at 3 pm as a heads up concerning planning the time spent in the museum, unfortunately I was not informed. Thus the tour can only get 3 stars, because the trip in general was good, however the tour guide is really not needed.
I had a knowledgeable guide who spoke very good English and a very competent driver. It was a great trip for my first full day in Cairo.
