Option 1: Downtown Sightseeing by private vehicle Kick off your journey with a visit to Tian’anmen Square—the world-famous heart of the city, where grand architecture and profound history converge. Then, step into the Forbidden City, the magnificent imperial palace that once housed emperors for centuries. Wander through its labyrinth of opulent courtyards, ornate halls, and treasure-filled museums, where every corner whispers tales of ancient dynasties and royal splendor. Note: The Forbidden City is closed every Monday (except for the peak summer months of July and August). Critical Reservation Reminder: Forbidden City tickets are in high demand and must be booked 7 full days in advance via official channels. To ensure you don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience, please confirm your tour reservation at least 7 days prior to your planned visit date if including the Forbidden City in your itinerary.
Why not extend your adventure with a visit to Jingshan Park? Perched atop its gentle hills, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic bird’s-eye view of the Forbidden City—its golden-tiled roofs stretching endlessly beneath you. As you take in this iconic vista, your guide will regale you with fascinating tales of Beijing’s historic central axis, the invisible backbone that connects the city’s most revered landmarks, from the Temple of Heaven in the south all the way to the Drum Tower in the north. Beyond the Forbidden City’s grand walls, this stop adds a whole new dimension to your journey, letting you grasp the scale and symmetry of ancient Beijing’s urban design.
Another gem not to be missed isBeihai Park, a centuries-old imperial garden with a history dating back over 1,000 years to the Liao Dynasty. Originally built as an imperial retreat for emperors to relax and enjoy the scenery, it later became a public park where visitors can soak up the tranquility of ancient Chinese garden design. Here, you’ll see the iconic White Dagoba (a sacred Buddhist structure) standing proudly on Jade Flower Island, wander along the winding corridors with intricate paintings, and take in the serene lake views with traditional pavilions dotting the shore. You’ll also learn about the park’s role in imperial life and the integration of Buddhist culture into imperial gardens.
Alternatively, you can choose to visit Yonghe Temple, also known as the "Lama Temple"—one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist temples in Beijing. With a history spanning over 300 years, it was initially built as a mansion for Prince Yong (later Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty) before being converted into a temple. Inside, you’ll marvel at the 18-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha statue carved from a single piece of sandalwood (a national treasure), admire the exquisite Buddhist murals and sculptures, and explore the five grand halls dedicated to different Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Your guide will share stories about the temple’s transformation from a royal residence to a religious site, the spread of Tibetan Buddhism in the Qing imperial court, and the cultural significance of its sacred artifacts.
Perhaps head to the Hutong area and take a rickshaw to enjoy a bit of the old Beijing that remains in the street food, traditional alleys and culture.
Our second tour package offers a Great Wall adventure, where you can choose from both well-developed and partially developed sections within Beijing. Badaling Great Wall is the most famous and well-preserved section, ideal for first-time visitors with convenient facilities; Juyongguan Great Wall is renowned for its magnificent mountain scenery and well-structured pass towers, a key military stronghold in ancient times; Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall stands out with its unique combination of Great Wall, lakes and mountains, offering a picturesque view of water surrounding the wall; the partially developed sections (such as some unrenovated stretches near Huanghuacheng) provide a more primitive and immersive experience for adventurous travelers. You can fully discuss with your guide to select the most suitable Great Wall section based on your preferences.

What an amazing experience! We ended up doing 2 days with two different tours guides and drivers. Let me say I was simply blown away. I have 2 parents with mobility issues and both of our tour guides Mrs. Cindy Chen and Ranee were extremely understanding and incredibly helpful. I don’t think we would have been able to do what we did without them. They helped us find a wheelchair pushing service for hire and it made the trip so much better for my parents. But our guide and even our driver on the second day were extremely helpful and incredibly supportive. So much so that we even hired the driver to take us to the train station the next day. But in a country where you don’t know the language and there are signs it English it just makes it so much more enjoyable having someone that knows everything. From the best photo spots to the great restaurant just knowing where to get dropped off for us was a huge help. But I can’t say enough positive things about Mrs. Cindy Chen and Ranee. We look forward to going back to China and we will for sure be using this company again when we get back to Beijing!
We were a private group of 6, having a memorable trip to the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and other main attractions (2 consecutive days) with our tour guide, Jack, inspite of the summer heat. Jack was quite thoughtful and knowledgeable. His English was quite good. He was punctual and had everything arranged and adapted to meet our needs. He recommended us a handful of interesting neighbourhoods and nice restaurants. We would definitely recommend Jack as tour guide.
Jack was the perfect guide - a student of history, an insightful instructor, patient and helpful. We sent him a request to see things we wouldn’t see on our large group tour and he met it with excellent timing. Zhao our driver was right there when we needed him always coordinating carefully with Jack , always ready with water and a little candy when we called for pick up. These guys were good and we recommend them highly.
We had an amazing day exploring two parts of the Great Wall. We went early in the morning to avoid the crowds. The chair lift up and Toboggan down added to the experience. We had a delicious lunch and then enjoyed spectacular views at the Waterside section finished with a fun speed boat ride. Our guide Jack was very helpful and informative. He had wonderful English and made the day very relaxing. Our transport was comfortable with snacks and water.
Sudan was a ver kind and helpful tour guide. Able to change last minute plans and made skip the line reservations. I strongly recommend her.
We had a private tour with Jack. Great organization, reliable and very helpful. We learned so much about the sights and lots of details. Jack is definitely a professional tour guide, as he was able to answer questions well. Thank you!

This review is a long time in coming, we visited China last year 2019 in March/ April. We were a private party of 4 with Becky as our private guide. Becky was a very knowledgeable guide with excellent English skills. She tailored our 1 day visit to meet our needs and made sure we had an opportunity to eat some authentic buns. I would highly recommend Becky as a tour guide.
Lucy’s custom 8 hour Beijing tour was a perfect way to see exactly what we wanted in a single day. It was a full day, but very easy going and fulfilling! Lucy has great insight on all things Beijing; history, culture, architecture, food, and the people. We specifically asked for a locally patroned restaurant for dumplings… sooooo, good! Whatever you might want to see, do, eat, or experience, I’m sure Lucy can make a day of it for you! Highly recommended!
