Itinerary
Meet with our licensed Tour Guide at 08:20am and depart immediately for Delphi archaeological site with our air-conditioned coach. The drive will last approximately 3 hours with a small stop of 25 minutes at a local cafe for a rest-break.
Delphi was the cultural and religious heart of the Hellenic world. Set in a stunning landscape, once considered the center of the world, where, according to mythology, two eagles sent by Zeus to find the navel of the world, met. The site, once sacred to Mother Earth and guarded by the serpent Python, later became Apollo’s sanctuary, built by Cretans arriving at Kirrha (the port of Delphi) accompanied by the god in the form of a dolphin. Such myths were celebrated in the Delphic festivals, like the Pythia and the Delphinia, with music and athletic competitions. Explore unique monuments such as the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Stoa, and the Polygonal Wall with our expert guide, ensuring you don’t miss a thing.
Delphi Archaeological Museum hosts globally known pieces of Art like the Naxian Sphinx, the statue of Antinoos, the frieze of the Treasury of the Sifnians and the bronze Charioteer.
The last stop on our journey is the picturesque village of Arachova. Here you may enjoy your lunch or take a step back and admire the beautiful surroundings. Arachova is a charming mountain town on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, known as the "Winter Mykonos" of Greece. Famous for its traditional stone houses, cozy atmosphere, and stunning views, Arachova is a popular destination for skiing, hiking, and exploring nearby Delphi. Visitors can enjoy local delicacies like formaela cheese, shop for handmade textiles, and experience the town’s vibrant après-ski scene. Whether in winter or summer, Arachova offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and Greek hospitality.
After a full day exploring the ancient wonders of Delphi and the charming village of Arachova, return in the evening with your heart and camera full of unforgettable sights and memories. The drive will last approximately 3 hours with a short toilet break.

I was worried this would be too long a trip. It was fabulous. Explanations and descriptions of Greek mythology and history the entire day in a delightful way. The museum and Delphi visit were great. The topping was the delicious lunch after the visit. Anastasia was a superb guide! .

We’re also pleased that you enjoyed the museum and the lunch. We look forward to welcoming you on another future tour. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
The tour was amazing!! I loved how knowledgeable our guide was about the history and stories of not only Delphi and Arachova, but also the cities and villages on the way to Delphi from Athens such as the runner from Marathon and the Sphinx of Thebes. She gave us wonderful insight on what the ancient people would do while making their pilgrimage to Delphi and how the site used to function in the ancient days. While we toured the museum, she gave us amazing insight on the relics that were on display and really brought to life on how the ancient people’s lives were around Delphi. We had also timed our departure from Arachova perfectly as we encountered that once in a lifetime summer storm while heading back to Athens. Our guide and driver did everything necessary to reassure all the passengers on board the bus and keep everyone calm and engaged. Her professionalism and the driver’s skills ensured we all returned to Athens safely. Even during the rough storm outside, she continued to tell us the history and myths of the nearby areas and kept all passengers engaged. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Central Greece, the Parnassus Mountains, and extremely friendly and hospitable locals from Arachova.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We’re delighted that the guide’s expertise made every part of the journey, from Athens to Delphi and Arachova, so engaging and memorable. We’re also pleased that the professionalism of both our guide and driver ensured a comfortable and reassuring experience throughout the day. We appreciate your recommendation and we hope to welcome you on another tour soon. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
This tour was very much worth it, our guide Ev. Ioannis (I hope I spelled it right) is a person truly interested in history and very open and kind. He told everything with a lot of interest and that was transmitted to us. The museum is amazing and so are the ruins. Although I do not necessarily recommend getting it with lunch since it is a set menu and there are several places in town to eat, we give this excursion a 10 and we are very grateful to have been able to do it.
Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted that Ioannis’ enthusiasm and expertise made such a positive impression and helped bring the sites to life. We appreciate your feedback and are so pleased that you enjoyed the experience overall. We look forward to welcoming you on another future tour. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
The tour was great, started promptly and our guide was very knowledgeable. I think the time we spent was just enough. A great full day trip, but we managed to get back in town/Athens to have enough time to stroll and have a nice dinner. Delphi is beautiful and lots of history to learn. Our stop by the near town was also a treat!
Thank you for your lovely review! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your day in Delphi and that you found the itinerary well balanced. It's great to know our guide's knowledge enhanced your visit and that you had enough time to explore Delphi, enjoy the stop in Arachova, and still return to Athens with the evening ahead of you. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you on another tour with us soon!
We had such a fun day visiting Delphi! We toured the museum and then walked through the archaeological site. It was incredibly hot in July, but it was definitely worth it. The walk to the stadium was strenuous especially in the heat but I’m glad we saw it. The drive was worth it to see the mountains along the way. We also stopped in Arachova, which is a charming mountain/ski town. We had a delicious lunch and had about 30 minutes to walk around, shop, and take it all in after lunch. Try the local cheese. There are some local shops near the Taverna where you can pick up some unique local souvenirs and treats. Our guide, John the Archeologist , was amazing. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and had a charismatic personality. You could tell he truly loves what he does, and that made the whole experience even more enjoyable.💙
Thank you for your wonderful review . We’re delighted that John’s passion and expertise helped make your visit so memorable. We’re especially pleased that you enjoyed discovering both the remarkable site of Delphi and the unique atmosphere of Arachova. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
There are plenty of bathroom stops and brakes along the way. It’s about a 3 Hour Dr. but it’s beautiful and you get a lot of the history. At the end of the tour you get time to explore on your own, which was great! Our guide was the best.
Thank you for your lovely review. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the journey and appreciated the scenic drive, the historical insights, and the free time to explore at your own pace. It's also great to know that our guide made such a positive impression. We hope to welcome you on another adventure soon. Best Regards, Tag Athens team

Our guide, John, was great. In addition to the explanations on-site, he also enlivened the bus ride there with plenty of anecdotes. We had a very good day.
Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted that John’s knowledge and storytelling enriched your experience throughout the day. It’s wonderful to hear that you had such an enjoyable visit. We hope to welcome on another tour in the future. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
Excellent tour, John the guide was extremely knowledgeable across the whole of Greece’s history and provided deep and broad context. Guided all the way there, pointing out facts about Athens and local areas that knitted everything together. High quality coach and great toilet stops. Brilliant museum tour and the site itself was worth the visit. Meeting up was really easy. My only complaint was that lunch at the restaurant was not great, not really local food, little choice and not very good quality plus no drink included and €6 for a no alcohol beer felt very expensive.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re delighted that John’s expertise and engaging storytelling provided such a rich understanding of Greece’s history throughout the day. We’re especially pleased that you found Delphi well worth the visit. We look forward to welcoming on another tour soon. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
This was a wonderful experience. Our guide was knowledgeable about history, and historical “gossip,” and really made it all come to life. Also, the walk up to the temple was a relatively easy one with stops along the way for insightful info for each important point. And the view from the top was incredible! The long bus ride was comfortable and informative with insights, including the origins of the marathon. We did not purchase the lunch part, but decided to eat at the same place as the group (we just followed them there) and the food was wonderful and lesser cost than buying with the package. One of the top highlights of our trip to Greece!
Thank you for your lovely review. We’re pleased that you enjoyed such a well-rounded experience, from the scenic journey and fascinating commentary to the breathtaking views at Delphi. We’re delighted it was one of the highlights of your trip. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon. Best Regards, Tag Athens Team
