Atlas mountains and berber villages from Marrakech is a highlight multi activities day trip to explore the unique berber culture and atlas mountains lifestyle, guided by your local mountain tour guide. After picking you up from your accommodation in Marrakech, your professional local guide will take you in adventure to discover the hidden secrets of Berber lifestyle while enjoying a cup of mint tea. These locals occupied Northern Africa for 4000 years BC. During this getaway, you will have a unique opportunity to combine trekking in Atlas Mountains through its typical villages and hidden trails in the first half of the day. And spend the other half of the day riding a camel for nearly half an hour in the mountains. In addition you will have enough time during lunch in a Berber house to get closer to local’s lifestyle and learn a lot about their culture and Morocco’s Berber history.

Itinerary
You will be picked up by our driver and begin our journey to the High Atlas mountains. On our way you will pass through the town of Tahnaout where we can stop at an Argan Oil Co-operative and just to learn how the woman of the co-operative turn the Argan nut into many of the different Argan Oil-based products Morocco is famous for. We will then continue on through Asni where, on Saturdays or Tuesday, a traditional Berber Souk and market can be visited.
Our journey will take us past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, we will stop off in Imlil and have the opportunity to take in the views of ancient irrigated terrace fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. I will point out things of interest and i will talk to you about the Berber culture and heritage along the way. Travel down through the village of Ait Souka and afterwards enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal in a Berber house.
Here you will have the opportunity to ride a camel on our way back via Moulay Gorges! And go back to your accommodation in Marrakech around 17:00pm.

The operator cancelled the night before at 2230 withput explanation. Booked through Viator but they do not let you leave a review for a cancelled booking so the reviews are not accurate.
Very nice experience for an unbeatable value for money. Ibrahim is a very patient and pleasant guide. The meal included in the tour was excellent and the view of the Atlas Mountains amazed us. No negatives but be careful if you have any health problems the walk from the restaurant to the waterfalls (which are not exceptional either) could be difficult. You can stay in the restaurant for as long as the group (about 15 people) makes the round trip. In short I highly recommend!!
Wow, AMAZING. Could not recommend enough! We were offered so many activities, food, travel and saw so many things in such a short time for a bargain. Our guide was super friendly and gave us historical information consistently and was very attentive. We were given a lunch, which was the best couscous and tajine we have tasted in Morocco!
Just WOW. Amazing value for money, I still can’t understand how they manage to make a profit with such reasonable prices. You get SO much good food throughout the entire day, bottles of water & tea. Our rep Abdul Aziz was sooo polite, funny & engaging. He took his to his grandparents house for lunch with a view of the mountains. We also learned so much about Berber culture & even got to meet his lovely neighbours. Such an enriching & heart warming experience. Thank you Abdul!
Ibrahim was a great and engaging tour guide. Shared history lessons with us and ensured everyone’s safety all through the different locations. I had fun and felt safe with my tour guide even though I was solo. Took some nice pictures of the memories too.

My partner and I had the pleasure of going on this trip with the guide Abdelaziz. We both really enjoyed the day and the variety with visiting the argon oil makers, the mountains, the waterfalls, his village, his family home for an amazing lunch and the camel ride at the end of the day. Pick up was smooth and as per the time via WhatsApp communication and the end of the day was in keeping with the schedule. Vehicle was also comfortable. Appreciate the insight into the Berber history and authenticity of the experience. Fully recommend this trip to others for a safe, fun and varied day!
It was fun and memorable. Just know that you are in the car for at least half of the excursion. Very cool to see the village, food was tasty, and the camels were very calm.

We recommend this beautiful day excursion with camel ride in the nearby Agafay desert, visit to an Argan cooperative with snack, stop at the suggestive and charismatic Berber market, break to refill water and fruit, visit to the village above Imlil at 1,800 m above sea level altitude without even realizing it and waterfalls at 2000 m. all included including lunch, chicken tajine and delicious and abundant couscous; honestly it deserved a few euros more, we were surprised, considering that there is also travel by bus, which is no small thing. I forgot, obviously with recovery and return to the indicated point. Ibrahim the guide is a knowledgeable and very kind boy, he answered all our curiosities, adding stories about the experience and history of his country, very interesting and exciting.
