Our driver Roman was very friendly, a small group of 6 people gives us the impression of being on a private tour. Once in Prague, Linda, our guide, was incredible! Even if the road is long, an excursion that is worth it!!
Our issue was the tour itself. The pickup/drop off and travel logistics worked very well. The time for touring was from 11 am to our 4 pm departure. We started at the high point of the city and worked our way down to the newer part. The guide appeared to be driven to get us from the top to the bottom in 2 hours. This didn't allow us to stop along the way for pictures. We wanted more time in the upper areas to explore, which didn't happen. And climbing back there later in the day just couldn't happen. Either the tour guide needed to give us more of her time and slow down, or the tour needed to cover less area. The guide kept telling us we would need to come back to the city to further explore those upper areas. But this was our only time to be in Prague. She was in a hurry to get us to our mtg point in 2 hours. Just a very disappointing experience. If I had it to do over, I would have told the guide to go on without us, and we would meet them at the meeting point at 4 pm. We could have then explored the upper part of the city at our own pace.
Dear jkward99, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate it, and we’re glad to hear that the pickup, drop-off, and travel logistics worked smoothly for you. We’re sorry to hear that the walking portion of the tour felt rushed and that you didn’t have as much time as you would have liked to pause for photos or explore the upper areas at a more leisurely pace. Our guided walking tour in Prague is designed to last approximately 2.5 hours. This timeframe allows us to cover the main highlights of the city while still fitting within the overall day-trip schedule (typically starting around 11 am and returning for the 4 pm departure). Prague is a vibrant city of nearly 1.5 million inhabitants with an incredible amount to offer. A single day trip can only provide an overview of its key sights and atmosphere. For those who wish to explore the city in greater depth, especially the upper areas and quieter corners, we always recommend spending several days in Prague so you can set your own pace and return to the places that most capture your interest. We understand this was your only opportunity to visit, and we regret that the experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. Your comments about the pacing will be shared with our guiding team so we can continue refining how we balance coverage and time on future tours. Thank you again for your honest review. We hope you’ll consider giving Prague another chance in the future as it truly rewards a longer stay. Kind regards, The Gray Line Vienna - White Alligator Tours Team
Roman is a really good person and I really like him. There is no issue finding the meeting point. The travel in general is safe and cozy.
Roman, our driver, and Hannah, our guide, were great! Everything was easy and exactly as described. Roman provided insights and information during the drive and Hannah did the same in Prague, of course. Prague itself is so very interesting. We loved the day.
We took a day tour to Prague from Vienna. We were picked up on time by our very professional and knowledgeable guide , Marco for the drive to Prague and back. Unfortunately things went downhill fast when we were introduced to our local “guide” Linda. Now let me preface my comments by saying my husband and I travel a lot and have had all types of guides some better than others but we all realized from the start that this was going to be a difficult afternoon. She welcomed us speaking very fast and in broken English. Then before we knew it she started walking quickly away from us and consistently stayed more than 25 feet ahead assuming we would follow her. What shocked us was she didn’t even turn around to check to see if we were all together and safe. When she finally did stop if we asked a question about something we passed or where we were she very rudely said “I’m going to talk about that now”. If we asked a question she felt she had already answered she curtly stated “as I told you early”. Well I must confess I was done being treated like we were ruining her plans that day ( she did share with us that she had just gotten her hair dyed pink for the upcoming festival she was in) I let her have it with the complaints I just told you about. Her reply to me was no one has ever yelled at her before. Then she said if I could only understand her position that she has to talk an awful lot as a tour guide and it is hard! I swear to you that is what she said to me. Well after that my day was ruined I was embarrassed that I lost my cool and I embarrassed my husband and made the rest of the travelers uncomfortable. Yikes! Do I recommend this company? I hope that don’t treat this as a one and out. This Linda should not be touring anyone, anywhere!
Dear Phyllis_D, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your experience with Linda didn’t meet your expectations. Linda has been a professional guide in Prague for many years and has successfully led hundreds of tours with consistently positive feedback. This is the first complaint we’ve ever received about her. From what Linda shared, the tour became difficult after you raised your voice and shouted at her in front of the group. While we always expect our guides to handle situations calmly and professionally, being shouted at is understandably upsetting for anyone. We truly value your feedback and will discuss this with Linda to see how we can support her even better. However, we continue to have full confidence in her as an experienced and reliable guide. We hope this helps explain our perspective, and we’d welcome the opportunity to host you again on a future tour under better circumstances. Kind regards, The Gray Line Vienna - White Alligator Tours Team
This experience is for those that need to maximize a short period of time and want to see the highlights of a beautiful city. Our driver, Roman, and guide, Hannah, were both professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I highly recommend this day trip to anyone who wants to explore a new city without the hassle of trying to navigate it on your own.
Excellent way to see Prague. Our driver Roman was very informative and accommodating. We stopped half way to Prague for restroom break which was appreciated by all. The guide in Prague was excellent. Great value and trip!
If you are not an early person, you may have challenges waking up early as picking up is early n punctual
This was a great tour to see Prague. Our tour guide Roman did a great job driving and providing all of the information that we needed. The local guide in Prague Linda was very informative and provide a good stories and recommendations for lunch. There was plenty of free time in Prague once the city tour was complete
Collected from hotel on time for long drive to Prague but not a problem as nice to drive through Czech villages plus a 20 min. stop for a coffee, we had Peter as our driver who was excellent but he couldn't do the tour itself as Czech rules say a local has to do the tour which is fair enough and Linda was competent, enthusiastic and took us to many of the Prague highlights with plenty of free time at the end to do your own thing.
