Meet your guide at the statue of Francisco Goya just outside and skip the line into Spain’s national art museum, home to over 7,000 pieces. With an expert in art history on hand, you’ll be guided to the crème de la crème of the masterpieces on display. Take in the breathtaking detail of works by Goya, Velazquez, and more, and discover the stories behind each careful brushstroke. Next, discover another aspect of Madrid’s history on a stroll through the charming Literary Quarter, where many of Spain’s literary geniuses have trodden these very paths.

The Tapas & History with Botín tour option starts here with a glass of vermouth, the house tapas, and some Manchego cheese. While enjoying this traditional Spanish aperitif, you'll learn about its history on the ground floor of what was once the home of Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quijote lived. Next, it’s time for a veritable Spanish feast! Step past the long lines forming outside before the restaurant even opens its doors. Your guide will show you the cave beneath the restaurant, which was part of a tunnel system that once spread underneath Madrid, and take you behind the scenes of the historic kitchen where 300-year-old ovens make time-perfected recipes. The Prado Museum Tour and Lunch at the Oldest Restaurant in the World was an amazing experience. Our guide, Arantxa was the best. She moved our small group through the Prado Museum with ease and we viewed all the pre-selected artwork that I wanted to see. We would not have been able to see what we did in the time we had without her expertise. Her knowledge of the artwork and artists was incredible and very interesting. Along our walk through the Literary quarter, Arantxa gave us great insight into Spanish history and culture. Our tour concluded at the Restaurante Botin, where we were able to walk through the restaurant before opening time and view the historic wine cellar. The visit over a wonderful lunch was great. Arantxa has incredible knowledge of Spanish food and food culture. Price of this tour was definitely worth it. I highly recommend it.
The tour was absolutely made by our guide, Arantxa! She was knowledgeable, personable, and thoroughly enjoyable!
Our guide Cassy was WONDERFUL ! She is very uplifting, so welcoming and warm, and can tell she really loves the arts and wishes to share the joy with us :) The way she explain the series of artists with the historical back ground and the individual artists made it so more fun and interesting to see those arts. She was really well learnt and has so much knowledge ! Totally worth it and more ❤️❤️❤️ I definitely recommend the tour with her, it was the beautiful part of our visit to Madrid ❣️🥰🥰🥰 Much mahalo and we would book the tour again if she is our guide ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Cassie was our guide and did an incredible job. Her knowledge of Spanish art and history made the excursion informative and fun. Well done!
Very good lunch buffer service. Sizzler's restaurant. Margaret and the team. Thank you.
This food tour with Cassie was amazing/outstanding. My previous review had a typo. Sorry. Cassie’s wealth of knowledge was amazing. Loved the tour and the restaurant visit especially as we were let in when it wasn’t open yet!!!!
Wonderful tour with Mariano of the Prado highlighting key pieces, giving detailed history of the artists and Spain, and finally a wonderful lunch with discussion after....highly recommend!!!
An excellent tour. Our guide named Mariano gave us a lot of interesting information at the museum! He knew a lot of history and knew details about the works! The restaurant was spectacular with the recommendations from the Guide. Highly recommended!!!
The Prado Museum tour and lunch was an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Cassie, was exceptional! She was flawless in all aspects of the tour - letting us know how it would go, leading and narrating us through the paintings she wanted to show us, including real life stories behind the artists and paintings themselves…it made everything that much more interesting. Cassie has a wonderful personality and was impressive with how she pleasantly connected with everyone in our group. Following the Prado Museum tour, we all walked to have lunch at the oldest restaurant in the world (really!), Botin. It was an incredible meal and experience! I can’t say enough good things about Cassie, our experience with the museum and lunch today. Highly recommend!!
Cassie is exactly the right person to lead this tour. At the Prado she talked about selected artists and paintings with charm and humour, knowledgeably setting them in their historical context. At Botin, the oldest restaurant, Cassie guided us around its complex nooks and crannies, including an ancient wine cellar. When we sat down for our meal, she informed us in the pleasantest way about what we were eating and drinking. To top it off we had a truly great group of wonderful people.
