Rising out on a rocky crag above the confluence of two rivers near the Guadarrama mountains, it is one of the most distinctive castle-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape – like the bow of a ship. Walking tour inside the Fortress City of Avila. It is sometimes called the Town of Stones and Saints, and it claims that it is one of the towns with the highest number of Romanesque and Gothic churches per capita in Spain. It has complete and prominent medieval town walls, built in the Romanesque style.

60 min

Then we will make a stop to have lunch in a local restaurant in the old town, where we will enjoy a typical “Iberian Traditional Meal” ( if the upgrade option is selected ), or enjoy free time.

Great dsy trip to Segovia, Avila and Toledo

This was one of the best day tours we’ve ever taken and an excellent way to experience three of Spain’s most beautiful and historic cities in a single day. Our guide, Cristina, was outstanding. She was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about the history of each destination and presented everything in a way that kept us engaged from start to finish. Her enthusiasm and storytelling brought each city to life. A special mention also goes to our driver, Juan Carlos, who made the journey smooth, safe and extremely comfortable. The coach was modern, spotless and had excellent air conditioning which was especially appreciated in Toledo where temperatures reached a scorching 44°C. The entire tour was exceptionally well organised, with just the right balance of guided commentary and free time to explore. If you only have a day and want to see Segovia, Ávila, and Toledo, this tour is outstanding value and highly recommended.
