Description

The Port of Leith Distillery is a remarkable new landmark in Edinburgh’s historic whisky district of Leith. This is the UK’s first vertical whisky distillery - in fact, nobody has built anything quite like this anywhere in the world! Over the course of 90 minutes, you will hear the story of the company's unlikely inception. Explore the world’s tallest distillery. Fill your own miniature bottle of New Make spirit. Take a seat in the QC LAB and understand whisky-making like never before with a tasting that takes you right the way through the production & maturation process. Enjoy this guided tasting session of New Make spirits, port, sherry and Table Whisky. All tours are conducted in English. Printed & QR scripts are available in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese Mandarin & Polish (printed only). The tour script is also available in both Braille and Large Print format.

Great evening tour -90 minutes disappeared

Whisky is about story, and Isobel told a modern day whisky story really well, relating it to the history of Leith with distilling and brewing. I am an Edinburgh local but she told it in a clear and accessible way for the overseas guests on the tour.

Why aren't all distilleries vertical?

We had a great tour helped in no small part by our guide, Isobel, who was very knowledgeable and spent time answering our many questions - interspersed with terrible jokes 🤣 We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.

Great stop just outside of Edinburgh !

This was our first time doing a whisky tasting and our first trip to Scotland. It was a lovely walk to the port of Leith from Edinburgh to the Port of Leith distillery. Our tour guide for the experience was Fraser and he was full of fantastic information, friendly and charming. If you’re visiting Edinburgh absolutely come by here and check this out !

New destillery looking promising

Great to see a new startup. Made a good tasting even if they do not have a finished whisky yet. Great guide.

Interesting to be part of the start and growing.

Interesting to see and experience a new distillery starting the business from scratch. Great location, great vision and counting for the first Single Malt distilled from Port of Leith. Thanks to our great tour guide Isobel.
