Yes, it's hot, and it's crowded, but so worth the hour or two we spent seeing it. Parking across the street is expensive, but just do it. So worth it!
The site is obviously incredible to be in, the things you can learn and see will astound you. However, the guide is poor. There's a lot of rather famous landmarks that aren't covered, such as the garden of fugitives. I ended up using Google maps to direct us around the parts I wanted to see. The parts that are covered are informative though and appeared to be things that other guides weren't covering, so perhaps a few hidden gems. As a note about usability, this was my first time using Viator and upon opening the ticket redemption code, it tells you that the guide is to be downloaded onto your phone and to bring your own earphones, so the cost seems quite wild, considering the information on the guide was available around site, in pamphlets and on Google maps. I was also unaware that you can't pick up the tickets from the site, you need to go to a ticket kiosk outside of the venue. I don't think I'd use Viator again based on the start of our experience. Although the app, which is called "Pop" is a very good idea, it's not something I enjoy as it drained my phone battery since you need to have it open for the duration of your experience or else the autoplay feature doesn't work.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear that you found the site itself incredible and that some of the content included in the guide provided unique insights and hidden gems that enhanced your visit. We're sorry to learn that the overall experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the coverage of certain landmarks, such as the Garden of the Fugitives, as well as the usability of the audio guide. Feedback like yours helps us identify areas where we can improve both the content and the user experience. Many thanks VoxCity
This was a scam. The cost was twice the price at the gate. Worse, the gate would not honor the ticket.
We had the chance to visit Pompeii with Anna Competent guide with very good French
Great experience if you're looking for some independent wandering around Pompeii. We were sent our tickets the morning of our visit (did not need to visit the Vox City booth to exchange vouchers, as the listing said we would have to) and were able to walk right in.
I bought tickets worth 85 dollars and after I got through the gate the value was worth 40 dollars. It was very difficult to pull up on my phone too.

Loved site and experience but staff very unhelpful and very rude. All staff had a very abrupt manner

Ease of booking online and exchange of voucher at the office. Very pleasant experience complemented by the audio description.
Good morning, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our audio guide service. See you soon. Kind regards, VoxCity
The Pompeii site is very interesting. However, in order to collect tickets purchased through Tripadvisor from the on-site booth, he could not find the reservations in the system and they had to make phone calls to settle the case. This delayed our visit for 40 minutes unnecessarily. I think it's better to buy the tickets on another website.

Sorry to say it was not possible to connect as no service on majority of my tour. I managed at one point to get the Google map to take me to where I wanted to go but no audio. If I had known I would have got a guided tour instead for my Pompeii visit.
Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. To access the audio tour, guests can scan the QR code on their Viator voucher and download it directly to their mobile phone. We include this information both on the tour page on Viator's website and again in the confirmation voucher. That said, we completely understand how disappointing and frustrating it must have been not to have this process go smoothly during your visit. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and will review the clarity of our instructions to help ensure a better experience for future travelers. We always try to do our best to ensure good experiences. Many thanks, VoxCity International
