Pompeii tour was organized well but Sorrento tour was a joke. No tour guide just a speaker device which was not working. Some one told us 20 minutes go and 20 minutes back but end up with 2.5 hours go and 2.5 hours back. Just gave us one hour to walk around. We took 15 minutes for toilet and walked one street and back to meeting place because we worry we could not find way back. It is a DISASTER 😤😤😤
Yes Sir, you are right, the traffic along the coast on high season is a disaster, we totally agree with you. Regarding our tour on the second part of the activity there is no guide, we provide tested audioguides and so we did. Further the stop in Sorrento is one hour and so we did. In the end your complaint is about travel times but that it doesn't depend on us of course. Best regards
Good length for Pisa and great informational tour. Too short for Sorrento. Not enough time to see everything there. It may be better to start at 9 am to have 1 more hour for Sorrento.
Pompeii has not let down. The guide, very good and very well documented. Sorrento did not know him, but very interesting to visit
The Pompeii tour was fantastic and Erica was an excellent guide. However, the tour company we booked with (Napoli Project Services) were not so good! They gave us confusing instructions and then blamed us for being late for our pizza that was included as part of the Sorrento extension of the tour. The Napoli Project tour person was very rude and it also meant we didn't have time to eat our pizza and we were then abandoned by her to find a driver (who spoke extremely little English) and then dumped in Sorrento to fend for ourselves (not even given an audio guide or map!). The tour details clearly stated we would be stopping at a viewpoint and having a guided tour of Sorrento! I definitely would not recommend booking this extension! I also think the tour company are trying to do too many different tours in one which is a big part of the problem. Everyone should visit Pompeii (maybe book direct instead of through Project Napoli) though, it is amazing. Now Viator are refusing to refund any of the tour cost and have changed the description of the tour completely (this only happened yesterday after I requested a partial refund) in order to back up not providing the refund! Absolutely shocking customer service from both Project Napoli and Viator!
The travel agency was very organized and ontime and travel guide met at each location was very kind and knowledgeable. We were very satisfied.
Tour was educational and the guide was knowledgeable. Overall a great tour! We enjoyed our pizza in Sorrento. The staff made sure we got back to the port on time.
We were met by travel guide at the port exit and driven after three stops to Pompeii. She separated the group into preferred language in Pompeii. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and shared a lot about the sex history of Pompeii which I was surprised to learn. After our half day tour we were walked by another guide to a local pizza restaurant and pointed to where we were to meet our driver for our afternoon trip to Sorrento. The pizzas were huge and very good. Lunch included pizza and Pepsi. Our driver took us to sorrento along with another couple. They were dropped off at a hotel. We were given an audio guide when we arrived in sorrento that I believe was supposed to be given to us as we drove as much of the information described information along the route. We had one hour in Sorrento so not much time. Sorrento is beautiful. We drove back to our port in Naples for an on time departure.
After some delay mainly due to a no show, Pompeii was an interesting visit with a good on-site guide. She took us to ruins & spots new to us (been there several times before) as the Stabian Baths & some magnificent fresco paintings. The quick lunch at the Suisse Pompei 1890 restaurant was delicious: don't miss the Neapolitan margherita. We were advised that going to Sorrento as planned was too risky timewise because of terrible traffic that day. Instead, we chose to be redirected to Mount Vesuvius. We enjoyed the alternative, but do keep in mind that Europe presummer heat can be daunting & curb any climber's enthusiasm. All in all, a great day! Thx so much to kind responsible Tour leader Gennaro Shirly & LL, Canada
Ok this tour:- first part to pompei was ok we holidaying on a cruise ship so yes we were on time limit. So the tour started actually quite late 9:45 but by the time we had picked everyone up and got in our way it was around half 10 got to pompei ok and this part of the tour was very good the tour guide was very informative and knew her stuff. But this is where it went down hill fast. We were left to get pizza that was paid for in the tour by another guide we then told that to ask for a taxi driver called savatoria at the meeting place which she showed us. We never saw her again. We found taxi driver didn’t speak a word of English or very little the road to sorrento was extremely busy took us 2 and half hours to cover 16miles I tried to speak to the driver that we could t do it and need to go back as fear of missing our ship. He said we were in a tour and had to go into sorrento by the time we got there it was 5 o’clock we had to get out of the tour minivan and get straight into a taxi (of which fair enough to them they had organised for us) and raced back to Naples to catch our ship, of which we just did. So no I won’t be recommending this tour. I think viator need to start this tour earlier in the day and have guide that speak English or multi languages to help there passenger, not just a pre recorded plug in device that was broken. This can’t be the first time this has happened. Seriously needs to be looked at. It’s a shame as I was really looking forward to sorrento always wanted to visit.
We had a great time on our Pompeii trip! Maria was a great guide and provided plenty of information and kept the tour entertaining!
