Pompeii, with its 66 hectares of which about 50 excavated, is a unique set of civil and private buildings, monuments, sculptures, paintings and mosaics of such importance for the history of archaeology and antiquity to be recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. To access the Archaeological Park and, consequently, the tour there is a ticket not included in the tour of 20€
We will start the visit from the oldest amphitheater in the Roman world, very well preserved.
Famous garden where some inhabitants of Pompeii took refuge during the eruption and whose "plaster casts" we will admire.
The temple of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva is one of the most famous of Pompeii for its view on Mount Vesuvius. Don't miss a picture of it!
We will visit the center of the political, religious, civil and economic life of the ancient city with its temples and public buildings. There will be a photo stop with Vesuvius behind.
The house of the Faun with its 32000 square feets is the largest house of the ancient Pompeii. Here you will admire gardens, multicolor mosaics. One of them is that of "Alexander the Great", work of art of the antiquity.
The temple of Apollon is one of the most ancient temples of the city. Restored not a long time ago,it is offering a spectacular view on Mount Vesuvius. The temple is dedicated to the god of the sun and its twin sister Diana, goddess of the moon.
Walking along the main street you see the house of" wildboar " nearby the Forum with a beautiful mosaic floor.
Walking along the main commercial street of the ancient Pompeii you will see shops, houses and public fountains.
Visiting the small theater you will admire details like the precious marble floor. This theater was used for music and poetry.
You will visit a tipical Roman thermal bath with its gym, swimming pool, and rooms dedicated to sauna and massages.

The Basilica is not a religious building, as you could suppose from the name, but it is an ancient Roman courthouse. Here you will admire beautiful details
The temple of Venus is dedicated to the main goddess of Pompeii and located in a panoramic spot.
We will visit the largest house in Pompeii with its approximately 3000 square meters. The domus is famous for the statue of the faun and the mosaic of Alexander.
At the discretion of the customer you can visit the "house of pleasure" of Pompeii with its erotic frescoes.

Pompeii is so large, you definitely need more than two hours (most tours) to explore the variety of homes, businesses and community spaces. Fabrizio is a 12 out of 10 guide. Knowledgeable, experienced and engaging. This extended tour is a must if you love history and learning. What was unearthed here influenced all the European cities of the day, as you’ll hear Pompeii referenced in Paris and Florence for example. Additionally, Pompeii is one of those places where a tour guide is definitely advantageous over self-guided.

We had Fabio for our guide and felt lucky we got him for a 2 hour private tour. He answered our questions and showed us aspects of life in Pompeii like sliding door food stalls, baths, bakery, and much more. If you want he will leave you at Villa dei Misteri if you purchase the suburban villa option. For that we wished we had had an audio guide. But looking at it was such a beautiful experience!
