Pompei Guided Tour at Sunset

Description
The best way to visit Pompeii avoiding the heat and the tourist crowds is to enter the archeological area when all the others are leaving, infact, in summer time Pompeii is open until 7.30 pm. You will go back in 79 AD when life in Pompeii came to an abrupt halt and was stopped in the middle of its everyday activities. Entering from Marina Gate you will walk nearby the harbour area reaching the Forum, the religious, commercial and civil centre of the roman life, you will discover all the private and public aspects of Roman life: the Apollo temple, the Basilica, the public Baths, taverns and bakeries, residential dwellings and private villas, narrow lanes and brothel areas, the Large Theater, the Odeion and the Quadriportico Square. Pompeii is so big that you could spend a couple of days to see everything. Your tour guide will help you to grasp the lifestyle of the inhabitants, you'll visit houses and shops admiring fresco paintings, mosaic floors and inscriptions.

This is a great tour and cover the highlights, perfect for kids. So much to see and learn. We had Jennaro as our guide and I highly recommend him.
💚🤍❤️
Gennaro was a very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly guide; with clear insights into Pompeii’s history as he was able to answer all of my and my partner’s questions promptly and in detail. Would take the time to come back to explore more of Pompeii with Gennaro any day.
This was the best tour I’ve ever done. Gennaro went ABOVE and BEYOND! We were running late because another tour went long. Gennaro was in constant communication with us via WhatsApp, met us exactly where our other tour ended, and got us into Pompeii before the final entrance at 5:30pm. The tour itself was both informative and genuinely entertaining. Gennaro doesn’t just recite facts and show sites - he knows how to read the group and make everyone feel engaged and comfortable. He customizes the experience based on your interests and level of understanding. Want to see a specific site? He’ll take you. Want to snap a bunch of photos? He’s happy to help. He’s also incredibly kind and respectful, not just to his guests, but to everyone he interacts with, from locals to fellow visitors. Ours was a private tour (I’m not sure if they all are). But you can’t get a better price for a private tour (believe me I tried.) The value was even better- unbeatable! Worth every cent and then some.

Excellent family friendly way to see quickly see the highlights of Pompeii. No lines. Plan to take the train home…lack of taxis.
Me and my friend had a private tour and although we had only about two hours, Giada made the most of it and gave us a curated experience filled with memorable information and nice photo opportunities. Also the crowds were mostly vanished at that point and the temperature was great. Overall; a definite recommend.
We had an awesome experience with Luigi! He arrived on time and brought us to all the best location.
I would give this experience more stars if I could! My son really wanted to do this, as for the rest of us, it was not apart of our bucket list item. However, all four of us left with a wonderful experience! It was a highlight of our trip! And our guide, Hugo, was the very best! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating! We have been talking about what we learned ever since and even looking up more information. If you are thinking about doing it without a guide you may not find your experience as worthwhile. Hugo told us things we would have never known! Big thank you to him! I also highly recommend going late in the evening, 5pm-7pm was perfect! We had Pompei to ourselves and it was the most magical time!
Gennaro was a great guide and walked at a nice pace giving us great insight into ancient Pompeii before the eruption. Would definitely recommend this tour - especially as it is later in the day after the larger crowds and heat have dissipated.
Pompei is remarkable place and a must visit of any Italian vacation. Our guide Luigi, made the tour memorable, his knowledge and insight transported us 2000+ years back in time to fully appreciate the experience.
Loved the late afternoon/sunset. Gennaro was a great guide! Perfect amount of detail and overview. Kept it entertaining and educational for our entire family.
