Completed in the 13th century and considered an important evidence of French Gothic architecture, Notre-Dame de Paris is a symbol of Catholicism and French identity. The popularity of the cathedral increased considerably after the publication in 1831 of Victor Hugo's novel Notre-Dame de Paris (better known in English as The Hunchback of Notre-Dame). The cathedral is currently under reconstruction, after the fire from 15 April 2019 that destroyed the roof and spire but left the structure intact.

Lacking attention to detail and support

We selected the self tour with Eurostar ticket from London to Paris, Paris Metro tickets and Seine boat tour. Just to bullet the issues. We weren’t sent both of our Eurostar tickets initially. When we went to check in we were told the bar code was for one, not two, and we had to be issued the second ticket. Further, I couldn’t reach support - I attempted in the morning maybe a dozen times, and heard back at 4:30p. We cut our day short to head back to the station and make sure we could secure the other return seat. The Metro tickets didn’t work. We spent over an hour in the hot, crowded station, working with their customer service to replace the day tickets. Again, we lost time for hour visit. Finally, no detail was given on where to go for the river tours. I googled where to go and fortunately that was correct. Ultimately, we had a much shorter time to explore in Paris and a tough time getting support. We did not get our money’s worth.

Operator response

We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your self-guided Paris tour. It’s understandable that issues with Eurostar tickets, Metro access, and unclear instructions for the Seine boat tour would create significant stress and reduce your time to enjoy the city. It’s especially frustrating when support is slow to respond, leaving you to resolve time-sensitive issues on your own. We recognize that having to cut your visit short and navigate crowded stations under pressure is far from the seamless experience expected, particularly when pre-booking is meant to simplify travel. Your feedback highlights critical areas for improvement: ensuring all tickets are correctly issued in advance, providing clear instructions for each activity, and offering prompt and accessible customer support to resolve issues quickly. A full, reliable experience depends on these elements, and your concerns are valid. We hope your future travels are smoother and that any tour you book allows you to enjoy your destinations without unnecessary stress.

Visit was fun, but experience bundle was more of a hassle

Personal experience was fairly mediocre. This was more of a "ticket bundle" than an experience if anything. The all-day metro pass that was included and given to us by the tour guide was defective. We had to line up at the Paris station service desk to sort out our metro pass situation. Agents at the Paris station had no clue how we got those passes and said they were not active because they were not issued by the station. Luckily the agent at the station was kind enough to just give us new passes without any charges

Horrible

It was a nightmare. In Paris when we got off Eurostar no one there we were left to our own devices. We found our way to get seine cruise they said we didn’t have anything booked. Very disappointed and we don’t speak french I would like a refund we wanted to upgrade to guided tour was told we could not

Proceed with caution

Communication was terrible and we were unable to access all parts of this package. We didn’t receive a metro card, map, or where to go for the cruise and didn’t get to use any of that. Someone called us after we boarded the train but there was no cell service for the message to come until after we arrived in Paris.

Perfect Day Trip to Paris

This was great option for us. Having been to Paris before we were looking for a train trip from London to Paris. This was actually cheaper than going thru Euro rail directly. The included River Cruise pass and the Metro pass were perfect to let us explore Paris on our own. This would have been rated a 5 except our guide was late to meet us at the train station in London causing a lot of Unnecessary Worries. This is very early departure and they ask you to be there early, I would expect the Tour Group to be there waiting on us!! Other than that a Perfect Trip!

Long day, but worth it!

I was staying in London for a few days with friends and two of us decided to take this tour to check out Paris in a day. Yes! it is a long day but the tour is well organized, you are given everything you need to find your way around (map). Me and my friend had a blast in Paris, we took the hop on bus which you can find right outside of the train station you get off of. It was the best way to go sightseeing and enjoy the city and major attractions with the short time we had. Overall the tour is worth it specially if you are just trying to spend a day in Paris or squeeze up as much as you can during your trip.

Full independent day

Full day. Train tickets turned out to be cheaper buying it here as a tour than on my own on Eurostar. Tight day if you want to sightsee everything and river cruise was ok but I would have preferred a cheaper tour ticket instead or would have opted for hop on bus ticket instead....

Independent means unguided which was...

Independent means unguided which was exactly what we wanted. This left the tour company with one responsibility, provide tickets for our family of 4. I would have expected that our assigned seats would have been together. The Eurostar offers sets of 4 seats where 2 seats face the other seats. I would have understood if the tour company did not have access to this configuration of seating, but 2 of us were given seats opposite a couple that had also purchased there tour through the same company. The couple would not switch seats. This happened in both directions.
