I had an extremely disappointing experience with Shark Warrior Adventures. Our trip was cancelled last minute due to “strong winds and rain storms,” yet when we arrived that morning, there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky or even the slightest breeze. The weather was absolutely perfect, making the cancellation feel completely unjustified.Bear in mind that they ask a very hefty price and you expect some sort of professionalism. What made things worse was the horrible customer service. When I called to question the decision, the operator was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of offering a reasonable explanation, he spoke to me as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. Also to mention he did not offer any rescheduling, which was both frustrating and unprofessional. Overall, this felt like a total waste of money and, honestly, gave off the impression of being a tourist scam. I would strongly recommend staying away and looking for a more reliable and respectful company. See pictures below for proof of the “ Strong winds and rain storms”
You spoke to me and according to the weather app that we use, the conditions were not suitable for kayaking. it was actually raining before you got there & your trip was cancelled for your safety & comfort. We do not apologise for the weather which has the final say!
Fantastic time kayaking with Terry and a mixed group of families from various geographies (probably about 20 altogether). All very easy and no faffing about getting on the water. We have two kids, 9 and 11, husband and I each shared a kayak with them. Felt very safe. Was a little concerned about sharks but needn’t have been as you’re mostly paddling over huge walls of seaweed and kayaks are very stable. There are even people snorkelling around you so feels very safe. It’s a decent paddle, especially against the tide, so need to be reasonably fit. But there is a chap who follows at the rear if you’re a bit slow. Saw some penguins on land but not loads as they’re fast reducing in numbers sadly. Terry was very knowledgeable although small criticism is too many of us so hard to hear him on the water. All in all would definitely recommend for a great family excursion.
Lovely to be out on the water with T, he is very knowledgable. The water is not too cold to swim in either.
Thank you very much for your 5 star review!
A very nice kayak trip with Terry as a friendly and experienced guide. The penguins are there and we were able to take the time to enjoy them in the best conditions, on a perfectly calm ocean. The environment is beautiful and the group is small (only 2 kayaks), which will have contributed to a great experience. Thanks Terry!
"A wonderful kayaking trip with Terry as our friendly and experienced guide. The penguins were there in force, and we were able to enjoy them in perfect conditions on a perfectly calm ocean. The surroundings were magnificent, and the small group (only two kayaks) contributed to a fantastic experience. Thank you, Terry!" Thank you so much for the beautiful review! Kind regards Terry Merci!
Cancelled on us the day of. I was so excited for this excursion. I never received a reason why it was cancelled at the last minute.
We are sorry but many trips were cancelled in December for your safety. We had the worst wind in 20 years. We are at the mercy of the wind!
Great trip - we saw penguins & seal, but our guide was also very knowledgeable and provided background on the penguins and the area
Thank you Heidi for your awesome Review. it is much appreciated kind regards Terry
This tour was so fun and special! Felt safe and well guided throughout - adult kids were great at kayaking, husband and I were not, but it did not matter at all! What a great way to see and learn about penguins. Terry was so helpful - even went out of his way to return a forgotten item to us the next day! This is a don’t miss experience.
While we had our tour be canceled by the company due to high winds we can express the professionalism of this company as well as the guide Terry!! He personally contacted us to let us know our tour was cancelled and then he even gave us information and locations to see the penguins and things to do during the day locally near the cancelled tour location. We can’t rave enough about a tour while it wasn’t able to be taken, made our day special the to kindness and an awesome guide and tour company!
Thank you so much what an awesome review. What a pity i didn't get to paddle with you guys but hopefully in the near future!
Without doubt the best way to see the penguins. We arrived and were very quickly introduced to Terry who was fantastic - so knowledgable and passionate. He really made the trip. We were in 2-person Kayaks with lifejackets provided. There was a locked box for our stuff that was manned at all times on-shore. Being able to see the penguins in the sea in their natural environment is an incredible experience and one not easily forgotten. Terry was able to explain all about their behaviours, habitat and the unfortunate challenges they now face. We were able to kayak right up to groups in the water and observe from a distance - a magical experience. Highly recommend - the best thing we did all trip
Thank you so much for your awesome Review! We really appreciate it and this approach is making waves for penguins too!
This is a fabulous way to get out on the water and get close to penguins in their natural environment. This was a family trip with 2 parents and 2 adult kids. I thought it was good value. The trip was well organised with good safety equipment and 2 guides for the 10 guests. The bright yellow 2 person kayaks are very safe and easy to paddle even for beginners. We had a good hour and a half on the water paddling from Seaforth Beach in Simons Town around to Boulder Beach. We saw the penguins heading out to sea to go fishing. We continued around to Windmill Beach where we beached the kayaks and went exploring in the rock pools and could go for a swim. The water was not too cold and we didn’t need wetsuits. What really made the whole experience was the guide. Terry was so passionate about the penguins and the other animals and gave a great explanation of how they live. Would definitely do this trip again.
Thank you very much for your awesome Review. It is greatly appreciated, Kind Regards Terry
