Every part of the tour took my breath away, from the courteous service to the wonderful accommodations. We were cheerfully greeted by our driver and guide Aboubkar and had an instant rapport. He was very accommodating,(we even stopped at a pharmacy to get some motion sickness meds). He was professional, knowledgeable and made the entire trip very enjoyable. I am very happy we picked this tour and I already can't wait to book another tour with Authentic Sahara Tours.
we made this trip two couples. our driver was Mohamed, awesome driver and very social.we traveled a mercedes Vito, very attentive. the zagora desert is not perfect but good experience and economical.(prefer Merzouga, it's more expensive but great as we learned)Prefer a better camp for more enjoyment. In short, don't miss a desert before you leave Marrakech
We did a tour from Marakkesh to Zagora with Hamza. The scenery and the nature on the drive was beautiful. Since it was a private tour, we were stopping for views, coffee and points of interest. Hamza was very friendly and flexible whenever we needed something. He stopped in beautiful spots and was very caring and ensured that we had a safe and comfortable trip. Hamza explained many things about the culture, habit and religion. We had a lot of fun playing music in the car and singing along together. He also made sure that we had a nice stay at the desert camp and that we got back safely to the Riad. Many thanks to him ! The trip is very beautiful as you pass through greenery, snowy mountains, small villages and the desert. We really recommend Hamza as a guide, he's very coool! :)
As advertised but the staff at camp was above everything - the guys showed us a fabulous time and the whole experience was incredible! Note it’s a long drive from Marrakesh but if u have the time it’s a cool experience.
We had an amazing 2 day/one night trip to the Zagora desert with our amazing guide Mustapha. The tour was comfortable, beautiful and we learned a lot about all the sights and the Moroccan countryside plus, the way of life of the Berber people, which we liked! The desert camp is very nice and perfectly suits the surroundings. The food was the best I had so far in Morocco and the people where so nice! A special thanks to Mustapha who was incredibly nice and made us feel super comfortable! Everything about the tour was amazing and he knew so much about all the things we saw. Also his music taste is the best ;)) Thank you so much, we will definitely come back soon! Greetings, Mees and Vibeke from Rotterdam :)
My wife and I did a 3 day, 2 night private tour with our guide Aboubakr. He is an excellent guide and truly cared that we enjoyed our time. His knowledge of the country and Berber culture provided an authentic experience of Morocco that we would not have had if we toured on our own. He even went above and beyond. He offered to take pictures for us so we would have memories of our trip and shared stories of life in Morocco. We had an amazing experience on our camel ride, climbed up a sand dune to watch the sunset, visiting the Kasbah's, and spending the evening in the desert under the stars. This was an unforgettable experience! We highly recommend this tour and our guide Aboubakr.
For our tour we had Mohammed and Aziz. Both were lovely tour guides and I felt completely safe in their hands! I rode with Mohammed on the way to the camel trek and back and he definitely made the long drive much more interesting by teaching us about the area we were driving through and chatting along the way! The camel trek with a might camping out under the stars is one that will live in my memory forever! Can’t recommend them enough! And if you go, ask for Mohammed!
Good value for money and a pleasant camp in the dessert aside, what really made this trip unforgettable was the service provided by our driver Mustapha. Mustapha really went above and beyond when it came to accommodating our requests. His knowledge of the area, great storytelling skills and fantastic sense of humor has made what is a relatively long journey very pleasant and entertaining. Plenty of interesting facts, fantastic recommendations and incredible photo stops. At the camp, Mustapha went an extra mile and provided us with towels which were not included in the tents as standard, and then has arranged for our riad in Marrakech to greet us and take our luggage after we were dropped off, all without us even asking. Fantastic experience overall, 11/10 would recommend
We went to Tichka, Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Zagora and the Tinfou dunes (near Tamegroute) as described in the itinerary and we are very happy to have been done so! Our driver (Oussama, 23 year old) was an excellent guide and skilled driver (it is important to be good at driving in Morocco, indeed really important!!), we loved the old cities and 'kasbahs' as well as the overnight in among the dunes of Tinfou. It was worth it.
I will give it a 7 out of 10. Here are the Pros: Service, Service, service: Saiid was really polite and great person to travel about 6-7 hours. Good personality and will try to please you if you want to stop somewhere for rest. The car had air conditioning and he will let you use it if you need it. He made stops for bathrooms and shopping snacks or museums. The Campground was really Best part. The Tents are nice. We had our private tent and the experience with all the other people at the campground was good. People from all over the world. The food was also delicious and the dawn was great for pictures. Bathrooms are nice they even have showers. The Cons: Driving can get you dizzy at some point. Not very safe there is only 2 lane 2 way traffic for 70 % of the route. At some points I was really scared, but Said seemed like he knew what he was doing, he was an experience driver. Looooong hours driving. We didn't make it on time to ride our camels during the sunset so it got too dark for pictures. Make sure you don't lose too much time before getting there, the good thing is taking pictures with the camels in the sunset. Said seem a little lost when we arrived to pick up our camels we could find the guy that was going to give them to us so we lost some time there too. Overall I think if you don't have too much time to do the Merzouga dessert this is a good experience just be prepared to travel 7 hr one day and 7 hrs the next day back. It was our first time in Morroco so we didnt care it was once in a lifetime. If we would've had time we would've done Merzouga Dessert.
