The Sydney Opera is a great architectural construction. It represents multiple strands of creativity, both in form and structural design. A large urban sculpture set in an extraordinary aquatic landscape and a world-famous building. We took a guided tour in Spanish, and she told us all about the difficulties the engineer faced in completing it.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for your wonderful comments about the Sydney Opera House. We’re delighted you appreciated not only the iconic architecture of the building, but also its extraordinary setting on Sydney Harbour. We hope to welcome you back for an opera performance at the most iconic opera house in the world.
Great priced small sample of opera to inspire those people who are interested but have never been in the most fabulous location you could possibly imagine.
The opera house is amazing. The show was spectacular. The seats were comfortable and offered great views.
We had a fantastic night experiencing one of the best operas in Sydney Opera House. The quality of the program was really amazing.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a fantastic night and enjoyed the performance. It means a lot to know the program made such a strong impression. We hope to welcome you back to the Sydney Opera House again soon for another unforgettable experience!
Good.enjoyable, full of good voices and some special effects and lighting and the music opera group was incredible.
We’re delighted this was a great opportunity for you to experience a show at the Sydney Opera House. Great Opera Hits is curated as an accessible introduction for first-time opera goers, and we’re so pleased you enjoyed it.
Amazing opera in a world renowned opera house at night with breathtaking harbour view . Who could ask for more .
Thank you for such a beautiful review David! We’re thrilled you enjoyed an amazing opera in a world-renowned venue, especially with those breathtaking harbour views at night. It really is a magical experience.
Great show, but wasn’t in English. Would have helped to know that before. I did enjoy the atmosphere and the beauty of the Opera indoors.
We’re glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and beauty of the Sydney Opera House. Operas are traditionally performed in their original languages, with English surtitles projected above the stage, and this is noted on the performance page to help audiences know what to expect. We hope to welcome you again soon.
We purchased Sydney Opera House tickets the day of the event and although there were limited seafaring due to our last minute plan, we found the tickets less expensive on your site than the opera’s website. Our seats were great and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Thank you for your wonderful review Foster! We’re so glad you were able to secure great seats to the opera performance, even with a last-minute plan.
It's quite interesting to look in, to learn the story, but the guide spoke very quickly and I only understood 50%, although my English is good. Large group
Thank you for sharing your experience, Flower. It sounds like your review relates to a guided tour of the Sydney Opera House rather than an opera performance. We’d just like to clarify that we are an opera company, presenting performances in the venue, and we don’t operate the guided tours of the building. The tours are managed separately by the Sydney Opera House team. We’re glad you found the history interesting, and we hope that if you have the opportunity in future, you might also experience one of our opera performances.
Great venue and acoustics. A little disappointing that Hansel and Gretel were both female as it became difficult to differentiate who was singing as both sang in the same Octave.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Danielle. We’re sorry to hear that the casting for this performance didn’t meet your expectations. The role of Hänsel was actually written to be performed by a female mezzo-soprano, part of a long tradition in opera often referred to as “trouser roles.” We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the acoustics at the Sydney Opera House and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
