Led by either the holder of a PhD in Scottish history or a guide with decades of experience providing historic tours in Scotland’s capital, this 90-minute tour is a fascinating journey through Edinburgh’s celebrated Old Town. Revel in the majesty of the famous Royal Mile with its stunning architecture, but also visit the secluded closes and courts lying just off the High Street and discover their dramatic stories. Find out about the world famous poets, novelists, philosophers and inventors who called this neighbourhood home but also the notorious thieves, murderers and bodysnatchers who stalked the streets after dark. The tour includes a trip through Canongate Kirkyard and a visit to our underground vaults below South Bridge, where you will find out how it came to be and who used to live there.

The guide Lafaete was amazing guide and person. Very funny and interesting tour. If its your first time in city definitely should visit. Never gonna forget this experience. Will recommend this guide to visitors from my country. We came from Armenia, group of 4 people and one of us is a witch 😂😂😂😂.

We had a great time. Our guide, Aurora, was very knowledgeable. Though she is French, her knowledge of the history of Edinburgh was impressive. My wife and I have done the ghost tour in the past but still learned a lot about the city. Our 14 year old son was also captivated. We would recommend this to our friends in the future, especially those who don’t want to spend too much time underground.
The French guide was very educational and funny
Our tour guide, Lafayette was amazing. The tour was really good! We learned so much about the different “ghosts” of Edinburgh and the part where we got to go to the vault and learn about the darker side of Edinburgh during the plague was really interesting.
