Journey through all facets of Mexican cuisine, from traditional "abuelita" recipes to three different Tlayudas and regional dishes freshly made in a local spot. You will experience the delicious taste of the famous Black and Red Moles, as well as a crispy Fried Chile Relleno. Our tour visits two local markets for your delight: Mercado 20 de Noviembre and Mercado Benito Juárez, before walking towards the Zócalo, a charming square brimming with history, stunning architecture, and culture. Oaxaca’s old town is the perfect area to experience the colorful atmosphere and discover the vibrant flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine, including a uniquely flavored traditional regional shaved ice. At the end of your tour, you'll have sampled some of Oaxaca's most delicious dishes. Including three traditional favorites! Strolled through the most picturesque streets, and gained a better understanding of our culture and history. Plus, don't forget our Secret Dish!

Welcome to our starting point! Here our guide will introduce themselves and provide an engaging overview of the entire culinary tour.
Start a delectable journey as we savor our first bites and learn more about markets in Oaxaca! Our food journey begins with two amazing bites at the famous Mercado 20 de Noviembre in Oaxaca: one savory and one sweet. We'll indulge in a classic Mexican dish renowned for its rich history and unique to this city: our special Mole Negro, to be enjoyed alongside another distinct Mole from Oaxaca; then Chili relleno and more!
Afterwards, we'll stroll through Mercado Juarez, where we'll have another round of delectable bites: a quesillo and a sweet local snack!
Discover the Zocalo, we'll ensure everyone enjoys our pre-Hispanic drink par excellence, Tejate, accompanied by some sweet Pan de Yema, right there!
We'll explore one of the bustling shopping areas in the historic center, discovering the spots where locals love to spend their time. And right here we'll visit a lovely terrace and get more food! After a short walk on another street, we'll then end up here again, entering our Secret Destination for foodies!

Absolutely fantastic food tour. Great variety and more than ample food! Would highly recommend the alcohol add on if that’s your thing. Armando was really informative and funny throughout, answering lots of tangential questions too. Highly recommend.

Kicked off our 5-day family vacation in Oaxaca with Ricardo leading our food tour. Yummy tour! We got to try many things we wouldn’t have had if we were on our own. Armando did a great job explaining everything to us and also giving us time to enjoy the food. We had a mix of market food, chocolate and a few items from nicer restaurants. Highly recommend!
