It was too crowded and the line to get back on the boat was too long. I am a senior citizen and standing in the hot sun for 45 minutes elbow to elbow with hundreds of strangers nearly did me in. The water on the boat was too expensive and I really needed some hydration. I did like the museum.
Its beauty and symbolism go beyond its huge figure. More than a symbol of New York, the Statue of Liberty is a symbol of a country and an ideal. Visiting it is contemplating its beauty, appreciating the landscape and valuing the ideals that built this great nation. A lighthouse for the world.
The trip was good except due to a power outage we did not get the complete package. We were unable to travel to Ellis island even though we paid for that part of the tour. There was no explanation or reimbursement for the missing part of the tour. Only the boat crew member yelled to people, 'no power cannot go on shore.'
There was very little communication once we got to the drop off point. I had to ask several employees where to go because each told me the wrong info until one kind woman finally directed me to the correct spot. The tour itself was very disappointing because when we got to Ellis Island there was a power outage and the tour was canceled. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience.
This iconic piece of America is an absolute must see. Absolutely buy tickets ahead of time. We purchased tickets to the pedestal about two months ahead of time. I suggest going early in the day. When we arrived there was no wait to board ferry. The walk from the parking lot to the ferry dock I would guess to be about a quarter of a mile. Before boarding the ferry you will go through a security check. There are plenty of seats on the ferry. First and Second level is inside top level is outside. The views from the ferry of the skyline and the Statue of Liberty are stunning. There are restrooms and a snack bar on the ferry. Ellis island was closed when we were there because of a power outage. This was disappointing When arriving at the Statue of Liberty before you get on the elevator you will go through another security checkpoint. No large bags, back packs or food is allowed in the statue. You will be asked to store your items in a nearby locker - costs 25 cents and you do get your quarter back. Short wait for an elevator. You can walk around the entire outside of the statue. We took the elevator operators suggestion and walked back down. Strongly suggest if you can to take the stairs down There is a museum on the island which houses the original torch. There is also an informative movie and displays There is a large gift Large gift shop and cafe. Line was longer for our return trip but still there was plenty of room for everyone to sit. Super memorable day. Absolutely perfect
Stunning and iconic landmark in New York. An absolute must see via the boat trip, which also stops at Ellis island.
The boat and the island itself was cool. It’s definitely worth going and seeing there is a lot of history. There is food options on the island and a gift shop of course. We went when it was 60 degrees and it felt 10 degrees colder on the island so prepare a jacket if it’s cooler outside. The only thing was when we were getting on the boat there was a bunch of people at battery park yelling at people to go a certain way for a ferry even if they were just walking around and not going on a ferry. Once you get past that it’s a good experience
A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! The highlight of our trip. The ferry journey was smooth with some wonderful views. Yes they pack the boat with a lot of people, but it doesn't subtract from the journey. The crew were friendly and offered to help me across the ramp when they saw I was walking with a crutch. The views of statue of Liberty were wonderful and we had plenty of time to walk around Liberty Island. We didn't pay the extra to go up ti the Crown level of Lady Liberty, however still had an amazing time. The museum was informative and great to explore. Although the queue was long when we went to board the ferry off of Liberty Island, it was not a long wait and again proved a comfortable journey with further awe inspiring views of the NY skyline. We chose not to get off at Ellis as we had another booking to get to, but it looked like an interesting place to visit if you have the time. It took us about 3 hrs to look around the island and the ferry journey, so expect to spend at least this, if not more if you do Ellis Island too. It is definitely a worthwhile and awesome visit.
I was the tour included going into the statue of liberty we were not able to. He said that we did not get that with our trip
A very smooth and easy trip to see the amazing lady. We went up to the crown which was amazing and hot. Ferry was a smooth ride and had great views. Highly recommended
