Without doubt the worst travel company I have ever dealt with. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere. What happened: Tour departure time was 8:30am. I arrived at 8:20am, 10 minutes before the time it starts. Despite having my booking details, the tour left without me. No phone call, text message, email, or any attempt to contact me. No effort was made to check whether all booked passengers were present before leaving. What I did to try and resolve the situation: Hotel staff suggested I travel (at my own cost) to Yankee Stadium to meet the tour. I spent almost 2 hours trying to locate the group. There was no sign of the tour. I eventually had to abandon any hope of joining. Customer service was non-existent: Called the company 11 times – no answer. Sent WhatsApp messages – no response. Sent emails – no response. Used their in-app chat service – no response. Driver/tour representative was completely uncontactable. At no point did anyone from the company attempt to help. The result: They had no problem taking my money. I lost almost half a day of my New York trip. A visit to New York is expensive, and time there is precious. The complete lack of communication turned what should have been a highlight of my trip into a frustrating and stressful experience. Why this concerns me: Even now, I have received no meaningful response from the company. Every communication channel appears to be ignored. There seems to be no way to speak to a real person when something goes wrong. The lack of any customer support has left me genuinely questioning whether this is a legitimate, professionally run business. If I had not eventually given up, I could easily have spent my entire day chasing a tour operator that was impossible to contact. My overall impression: Bad organisation. Zero accountability. Non-existent customer support. No concern for paying customers once payment has been taken. A business model that, from a customer's perspective, inspires very little confidence. After more than 20 years of travelling, this ranks among the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. My advice: Save yourself the stress, wasted time, and disappointment. If a company cannot be contacted by phone, email, WhatsApp, or live chat when a customer needs urgent assistance, that should be a massive warning sign. There are plenty of brilliant tour operators in New York that actually communicate with their customers and provide support when things go wrong. Choose one of them instead.
It has the potential to be really good. I didn’t care for how they allotted time. We spent 30 min at the Apollo theater. You cannot go in you can only look at it from the outside and the exterior is under construction. Would have been totally fine just driving by in the bus. Also spent 30 min at a very sketchy convenience store. Nothing around. I think the tour guide just wanted a snack. Then at the places at the end where I would have liked more time Brooklyn Bridge, Time Out Market, Coney Island we had very little time to explore. Would have loved to walked across the Brooklyn Bridge but with it being 1 o’clock we were all completely starving and scarfed down a burger so that left no time to see the Brooklyn Bridge. At Coney Island by the time I walked the pier it was time to leave. I didn’t even see the amusement park. Definitely could have been great if timing of stops was better.
Thanks to Joseph and Oscar for a great day. We learned so much about the city and the different boroughs. Joseph is a knowledgeable history buff which I appreciated. We have been coming to NYC for over 30 years and this is the first time we ever went outside of Manhattan. We will more confident in exploring the other areas in the future thanks to Joseph and Oscar. I highly recommend this tour.
This tour was not for kids with Joseph and Oscar. The reviews kept saying how funny Jorge was and how entertaining. I really wanted Jorge. All 5 of us thought this was the worst tour of NYC. Very boring and dull.
We really enjoyed seeing so many different neighborhoods in New York City. The tour guide was informative and the bus was clean and comfortable
Stalina was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and passionate about her job. She went over and beyond her duties so much that she even actively searched for an inconsiderate family who went far beyond the given lunch period as the rest of us tourist sat and waited for their return. After waiting for quite some time, the family finally contacted the company 30 minutes after our departure as if we inconvenience them. Go figure. Although the inconsiderate family took away from the rest of our experience, Stalina handled the situation with so much grace and respect. If you ever want to tour New York, book with The Amigos tour and specifically request Stalina.
Hi we had a lovely day with our guide Jorge he was extremely knowledgeable about everything New York and brilliant detail regarding all the different cultures and religions. How they have changed the face on New York over the years. We hadn’t been to New York before but learned so much over the 7 hours. We would recommend a trip with Jorge to anyone
Our guide Jorge and driver Julian were professional and knowledgeable. Both took great pride in their work and the tour was Amazing! We were able to see many hidden gems and areas we never would have toured independently.
Tour guide, Jorge was excellent. Very knowledgeable, friendly, as good a tour guide I've ever had.
