Non Touristy - Mekong Delta 1 Day With Biking

Description
Mekong is the life blood of Vietnam. The mighty river is one of the longest in the world. Along with its intricate network of snaking rivers, streams and canals, it is like the veins of the human body. They carry people and goods. They feed the fertile lands that make it possible for Vietnam to grow the immense amounts of agricultural produce necessary to feed millions and sustain life in Vietnam. No visit to Vietnam would be complete without experiencing Mekong and this special tour is unique because you get to see the countryside by van, the mighty river and islands by boat, and cycle deeper into the jungle where travel by vehicle would be very challenging or impossible. This tour takes you off the beaten path to meet locals and learn about their “water hyacinth” lifestyle.

Itinerary
8:00 AM, VN Bike Tour guide will pick you up at your place Upon arrival after 2-hour drive, we will transfer to bikes. We must cycle as it is virtually impossible to get to our destination by car along the winding pathways and jungle, over the safe, but challenging, terrain.
Along our 7 – 10 km cycling route, we are going to pass through peaceful village streets, cross bridges connecting isolated small canals, and stop at tropical fruit gardens. Here you will also enjoy the experience of sampling local cuisine by having a typical “homegrown, homemade” meal From here we head to the wharf to board a traditional sampan.
Our next stop is Kirin Island where you can sample freshly baked coconut candy and honey which tastes of the island’s rich and diverse flora. We will break briefly in the shade to taste rich, seasonal tropical fruits and listen to folk music, performed by local artists.
Back in Ho Chi Minh City at around 6 pm.

We had an amazing day on this private Mekong Delta tour. It was relaxing, luxurious, and we felt genuinely spoilt from start to finish. Everything was so well organised, and the pace was perfect, especially for travelling with children. There was always something to keep the kids entertained, while still allowing us to slow down and enjoy the experience. Our host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making us feel comfortable throughout the day. It was a stress-free experience that exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone, especially families looking for a memorable and personalised experience.
Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear that you and your family had such a relaxing and enjoyable private Mekong Delta experience. It's great to know the pace of the tour suited your family so well and that the children were engaged throughout the day. We're especially pleased that your host made you feel comfortable, well looked after, and able to fully enjoy a stress-free journey. Your kind recommendation means a lot to us, especially for families looking for a personalized experience. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you all back for another memorable adventure in Vietnam in the future!
Jacy Hieu is wonderful guide - attentive and focused on his guiding job and your satisfaction as a tour guest. Great atmosphere, happy to take questions and provides extensive answers. Would use him again happily!
Our tour guide Linda was lovely and very knowledgeable as she grew up there so she had a lot of enthusiasm about telling her story and they way they live. The tour itself was very interesting and eye opening
Last minute booking for a full day tour. Was well worth it. Full packed. Well-paced. Get a feel of the culture, the history, the past and the present. All from knowledgeable Jackie our tour guide. He is hilarious and a laugh. 🤭 Ask him as many questions as you wish to learn about Vietnam. He is proud of his country and heritage and loves foreign visitors enriching his country and he loves to enrich them in return. He makes your day more enjoyable. Be ready to karaoke impromptu at times. Boat trips, canoe trips, tuk-tuk, comfortable new mini bus, very cool air conditioning. Be sure to wear shorts and a loose fitting tshirt as it will be warm. That’s just Vietnam for you. The trip was non-stop nibblies (coconut water, coconut meat, water, full meat and seafood lunch, massive whole fried crispy fish to share per table along with so many more dishes), I had a buffet planned for later that day, which I had to cancel, I could eat anymore. 😂 We chose the best option of a full day tour without Cu Chi tunnels as that was not our thing. You don’t miss out on anything, and you could always do Cu Chi the next day as a half day tour if you still want to. This tour gave you so much more without it.
Thank you for your detailed and entertaining review! We're delighted to hear that your last-minute full-day Mekong Delta tour turned out to be such a great experience. It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the variety of activities—from boat and canoe rides to the tuk-tuk journey, as well as the authentic local food and generous meals throughout the day. We’re especially glad the pace, comfort, and cultural insights helped you get a real feel for both Vietnam’s history and present-day life. We’re thrilled to hear your kind words about Jacky Hieu. His passion for sharing Vietnamese culture, humor, and energy (including the occasional karaoke!) is exactly what makes his tours so memorable, and he’ll be very happy to know he made your day even more enjoyable. Thank you also for the helpful tips for future travelers—it’s great advice. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in Vietnam, whether it’s the Mekong again or the Cu Chi Tunnels next time!
We spend the day with Cong and we was a very enthusiastic tour guide with a lot of explanations to give. We really enjoyes our tour, from the diverses boat rides, the coconut factory, the turtle island, the really nice organized lunch and to finish with the Pagoda. Definitely a tour to do if you have a day to spare in Ho Chi Minh 👍
We are grateful for your review and look forward to welcoming you back for another adventure in Vietnam.
Great way to visit the Mekong delta in a more private experience. The guide was very pleasant and gave us a great tour. A recommend for the transport to the boat and activities you experienced it with your friends or family and not with a bunch of stranger. It is worth the extra price.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. Your satisfaction means everything to us.
Cong was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the region. The private Mekong Delta boat trip was a highlight of our stay, especially because we were able to avoid the tourist crowds and enjoy a much more peaceful experience.
We are delighted that you had a memorable experience. Thank you for traveling with our team.
Wonderful day tour with the gracious guide Jackie Hieu, who introduced our group to country and people in a suf fussy way and was very concerned about the welfare of his protégés!. Interesting locations, delicious food and good entertainment - gladly again.
Thank you for your lovely comments!
Fantastic day on the Mekong Delta with our guide, Jacky Huie. Great mix of people from all over the world, which made it even better. This tour is a must-do—but what really made it was Jacky. Knowledgeable, funny, polite, and professional. He genuinely made the whole experience. If you’re considering it, book with Jacky—you won’t regret it. Thanks again, Jacky!
We appreciate your review so much!
This was an amazing experience. We were able to get a taste of the local fruits and teas and had wonderful seafood lunch. The boat rides and bicycle rides were beautiful. Cong our tour guide, took great care of us and shared so much information during our outings. He even set up a motorcycle ride instead of a bike ride for the 3 people in our group who were not able to ride bikes. I would highly recommend this tour and the tour guide again.
Your kind words motivate us—thank you!
