Nairobi National Park is the world’s only wildlife park located so close to a capital city, just a short drive from downtown Nairobi. This half-day guided safari is perfect for travelers with limited time who still want to see Kenya’s famous wildlife in its natural habitat. Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup and quick transfer to the park gate. Once inside, embark on a 4 hour game drive through diverse landscapes — open grass plains, acacia woodlands, and riverine forests — all with the Nairobi skyline as a dramatic backdrop. Keep your camera ready for sightings of the Big Four (lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino — elephants live outside the park) as well as giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and over 400 bird species. We saw a lot of animals lions, buffalo cheetahs antelopes and ostriches. It was a great adventure

The experience was great and the tour operator was very communicative starting the night before the tour. Waiting that long to learn when pickup was going to be was a little unnerving, but from then on, couldn't have been better. They arranged for an Uber to pick us up and meet our guide at the park. Their timing was perfect. Tony was a fun tour guide who was very informed about the animals, and where to find them. He obviously had rapport with the other guides and was able to receive and give tips about sightings at the park, leading to up close viewings of many animals INCLUDING being first on the scene for 2 cheetahs, which was an incredible find. The vehicle was a van with large (but not the largest) windows and a pop-up top for viewing. We stopped at the market after briefly which is targeted to tourists and prices are higher, and in USD. An Uber was coordinated back to the hotel for us and Tony saw us off.

An incredible afternoon to discover this reserve at the gates of the capital! First glimpse of the animals of the savannah for me and it was beautiful. We could see very closely many impalas, a dozen giraffes including a small, 2 rhinoceros with their babies just a few months old, ostriches, a warthog, monkeys and zebras. And glimpse further, two buffaloes, and zebus. Not to mention lots of colorful bird species, vultures, herons and egrets. All in just three hours in the storeroom. The Land cruise was very comfortable, the guide/driver adorable. He did everything he could to show us the best. If you only have one day to spend in the capital I recommend this outing without hesitation.
