The experience was amazing! Enzo was a great guide and so knowledgeable and passionate about Etna, we were so pleased we chose to stick with him during our time there. The tasting was a great opportunity to experience real Sicily and the Alcantara river was stunning. I’d definitely recommend getting some water shoes for that experience but they do sell them at a small kiosk at the entrance too!
It was a beautiful tour, with stunning landscapes; the experience of doing a bit of trekking was marvelous, the guide Salvatore was very kind, explained everything in great detail, and was always very accommodating.
Long bus ride, but we enjoyed the mountain.
Mount Etna is well worth the visit. The tour guide was interesting and gave us a lot of information on the geological history of the volcano, the fauna and flora and the caves. An enjoyable day out.
Very Good ,guide was very knowledgeable on mount enta and took us to the lava caves and then honey tasting and round the day of on a relaxing river
Lorenzo and Tomas were fantastic guides and very knowledgeable and accommodating. They picked us up directly from the Hotel. We had a great day up Etna in the snow (via the cable car) and a walk along the alcantara to see the waterfalls. Highly recommended.
The tour operator, Etna Tribe were very easy to deal with and helpful. Our guide Gabriele picked me up on time and after picking up a second guest, changed our itinerary due to weather which he discussed with us. Went to Alcantara River first, they paid for the steps down to the river, alternatively you could take the lift for approx. €5 pp one way or €7 return. Suggest taking your bathers and reef shoes so you can walk further up the river as it can get over waist deep, it was spectacular. Don't forget to take a waterproof bag to put your wet gear in after changing. Once getting to Mt Etna, due to conditions our only option was to hire a ATV (€130 pp or €65 shared at the time of writing this review) we shared the ATV and it was awesome fun. Overall a really great day out.
So pleased we booked this trip, the whole day was excellent. Our guide Simone was fantastic, he shared so much interesting information not just about Etna and Alcantara but Sicilian culture, food, music and other must see places to visit. His energy was boundless and he kept us entertained all day with his humour and went out of his way to ensure we had an amazing day.
Excellent trip. Alcantara gorge is beautiful with crystal clear water. It was very quiet when we visited and we had the opportunity to paddle. Etna is stunning - we didn’t go to the top as it was very cloudy and the guide advised against it, but it’s an option if you want (additional cost). The walking tour on Etna was great, the guide was really knowledgeable, we visited a lava cave and several craters. Make sure you wear additional layers as it’s cold. Trainers were fine for the walk we did. Lastly a trip to a winery for sampling wine and food, with the option for a meal if wanted (extra cost). Fabulous tour, would definitely recommend. Tour can be adapted to individual needs. Our guide Lorenzo was excellent, spoke very good English and was extremely knowledgeable
Our guide , Lorenzo, was amazing!! So knowledgeable about the area and Sicilian culture. His expertise made the tour outstanding!! We highly recommend this tour. A highlight of our vacation!!
