You will start your excursion by checking into our log cabin office at the Talkeetna State Airport 45 minutes prior to your flight departure. Be sure to bring your sunglasses, light jacket (in the summer) and plenty of memory on your camera. Board our ski-equipped aircraft and enjoy your pilots' commentary about the geological history and local wildlife on your individual headset. Continue your flight above Talkeetna and over the river systems of the Susitna valley as you enter into an incredible landscape of icefalls, glaciers and snow peaks. You'll be awed by the Great Gorge of the Ruth Glacier, filled with a 4,000 foot thick river of ice, making this one of the deepest gorges in the world. Travel further into the range to explore the seven major glaciers that blanket the southside of the Alaska Range. Add a glacier landing onto your trip for a highlight of your Alaska vacation. A truly unforgettable experience. I went with my partner and did the mountain voyager with glacier landing and we were both in awe the entire time. Definitely the most unique experience we did in Alaska and worth every dollar. The glacier landing is especially epic and everyone should look to include this in their booking as well. The staff was amazing, especially our pilot, who let me fly in the copilot seat on the ride home. Thank you Talkeetna air taxi for giving us a once in a lifetime experience!
One of my all time great experiences. The flight and glacier landing was fantastic. Our very capable pilot Paul has been flying in DNP since 1990. He flew us close to mountain peaks, in fact, they seemed almost close enough to touch, truly an incredible experience. The glaciers and mountains above the clouds are absolutely stunning. The detail and majesty of the mountains, glaciers and rivers when viewed so up close are inspiring. Well worth the money, a trip you will long remember.

This was hands down one of the best experiences of my entire life. I travel a LOT and I've been all over the world, and this was one of the most awe inspiring sights I have ever seen. It was an overcast day in town and we could not see Denali at all, but once we got up into the mountains it was a different world. We were above the cloud cover and the views were just breathtakingly stunning! There are not enough adjective to describe it. The staff and crew were extremely profession and friendly, everyone making sure we had a fun and safe experience. If you do nothing else in Alaska, treat yourself to this once in a lifetime experience... and don't skimp on the glacier landing. Make sure to include that. Seeing the mountains through the plane windows was one thing, but standing on a glacier surrounded by towering mountains with not a sound for miles was otherworldly! This is really something everyone should experience at least once in their lives!!
This was supposed to be a Denali flight with a landing but due to the weather it ended only being a glacier sightseeing flight. The people were very nice and I could have cancelled but I elected to go on the sightseeing flight. They did give me a refund for the difference in prices. They offered to rebook and do whatever I wanted so they were very nice.
Our trip was well organized, and the pilot was really terrific. I thought his narrative about glaciers was particularly valuable. The mountains are beautiful, but the glaciers themselves are just as interesting and he provided perspective that helped me see the landscape in some new ways. My husband surprised me because he thought it was a great use of Vacation money. We would recommend this to anyone.
Very professional from start to finish. Staff even reached out about ground transportation. Very organized with multiple flights departing, great service getting boots for the glacier landing. Our pilot, Paul, made a point to give everyone views of Denali and other attractions. I could not have designed a better experience.

Exceptional piloting and narration. I'm local Alaskan and have done a lot of flying in fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, and my experience with Cade at Talkeetna Air Taxi was extraordinary. The entire Talkeetna Air Taxi team were wonderful.
This was one of the top experiences for our family (2 adults + 2 teen boys) on our recent trip to Alaska. It's really the best way to see Denali and there's just nothing list landing on a glacier and stepping out onto one and walking around! The kids even had a little snowball fight :) I am generally prone to motion sickness and had absolutely no trouble. Our pilot was fantastic and we really enjoyed all the information he shared with us about Denali during the flight. Highly recommend!
