The Mount Longonot Day Trip departs daily from Nairobi after breakfast, with a one-hour drive to Mount Longonot National Park. The hike covers approximately 8–9 km and takes about 5 hours round trip. Though steep and moderately challenging, it is suitable for people with average fitness and is guided throughout. The climb rewards hikers with spectacular views of Lake Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley from the crater rim. The terrain includes fine dust and loose gravel, so comfortable hiking shoes, light clothing, and drinking water are recommended. After the hike, relax at the park headquarters before heading to Lake Naivasha, where you may purchase lunch at Marina Camp and optionally enjoy a boat ride to see hippos and diverse birdlife.
