Moroccan Cooking Workshop LAMAI CHEF

This was the best experience for a cooking class in the world. Our whole family was included in the cooking (young and old) and the meal prepared was absolutely phenomenal. Thank you so much for a true 5-star gourmet experience with real Moroccan hospitality. So kind and friendly - like family!

We had an amazing experience from the moment we walked into the home of our host. We learned about the significance of serving and how to serve Moroccan mint tea. It was very tasty. We then learned about the traditional spices used in Moroccan meals. The cooking experience was educational, fun, and quite tasty. Our translator and chef really made sure we understood the prepping and cooking process. They took the time to answer all of our questions. I will make sure people I know reach out to them when they come to Marrakech. I wish Lamai Chef Moroccan Traditional Cooking School continued success. Thanks for making this cooking experience unforgettable.

I got this cooking class as a gift from my parents for my birthday and it exceeded my expectations! We were picked up at our riad and drove about 15 min, after which we entered a beautiful traditional Moroccan home where we received a warm welcome. The tea ceremony at the start and the explanation about which spices are used gives you a good insight into traditions and the Moroccan kitchen. Then, we were put to work. We made about 4 different dishes/sides and although that is quite a lot the explanation is thorough and if you have any questions they are answered. We learned some good techniques and of course got to taste our food. There was room for a lot of fun and laughing and even got a small dancing lesson at the end! Overall it was a lovely experience with a loving and caring family. I would 100% recommend it to anyone even slightly interested in Moroccan cooking and culture. :)

All in all this was an amazing experience and exceeded my expectations! We were picked up close by our Riad and taken to a beautiful residence by the friendliest (and very funny) host. When we came into his home and cooking studio we felt very welcomed and at home. Next to the cooking class they teach you about the Moroccan culture and will answer all your questions. Although the cooks are authentically Maroccon they have a very sweet translator which make the full experience a true joy. I can recommend everyone who is even slightly interested to book this cooking class.

My partner and I did a 3 hour cooking class in Marrakech with LAMAI CHEF in May 2026. It was a small group (2 of us plus a group of 5 women from Greece). The class was highly interactive with good instruction and a nice facility. I enjoyed it almost as much for the explanations and background as for the workshop itself (which was also good). We did it first thing in the day (10am) which I recommend as it allows you to do the class, eat your lunch and then have the rest of the afternoon and evening to explore around the Medina. Strong recommend.
