Dar Chef cookery course

From meeting Abdul in the square and getting the ingredients for our cooking course we knew we are in safe hands. His experience was second to none . The place we cooked in was amazing and his family were so welcoming. The food we cooked was incredible learning all about the herbs textures and taste … highly recommend it. We had so much fun and gain so much knowledge, until next time .

A hugely enjoyable and useful class

We are extremely grateful to Abdel and all the team at Dar Chef for an enjoyable and informative class. He began by taking us to a local market to buy fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs and meat. We then learned to prepare three types of Moroccan salad, lamb tagine and batbout bread, along with Moroccan tea, made with a selection of the herbs. The facilities and the venue are very well set up for classes and Abdel is a skilful and generous teacher. He is also a very talented linguist, speaking excellent English, French and other languages. One of the big takeaways for us is learning about the choice of spices and their most effective combinations. Highly recommended!

Great cooking class with professional and friendly chefs – but contact beforehand for confirmation

Booked this for my husband, and he thought that the cooking class was very nice! He was taught to make three different starters, a Tagine as a main course, and traditional Moroccan tea. It was very tasty, and the chefs were super friendly. Everything didn’t get off to a great start though, my husband waited for about 30 minutes before someone came, because apparently they (Moroccan Cooking Classes at Dar Chef) hadn’t gotten the information from Viator that we had booked a cooking class for that day (or they had simply forgotten). After calling them, they quickly sent someone to meet my husband though, and put together the class for him. He was the only one in attendance, because I guess no one else had booked the class for that day, so essentially it became a private cooking class! So it all ended well, and I even got to taste the food when I came by towards the end with our son. Delicious! But I would recommend calling or writing on WhatsApp a couple of days before just to double check the booking and other details. The number was a bit hard to find, but I never got an answer when I wrote via the Viator messaging service a couple of days earlier to clarify the meeting point – so it seems best to contact them directly!

Abdel allowed us to make a great Moroccan lunch starting from shopping at the market. A beautiful immersion in local cuisine. Very kind and welcoming. Absolutely recommended!

Cooking course with the option market

Irreplaceable to know Moroccan cuisine. Very interesting without the market option, even more with. We learn the chief's tricks and tricks. Very good experience.

Marrakech cooking course

What a great experience with a family run restaurant based course. We started by buying the fresh ingredients and then Back to the restaurant to cook. Chef was very good passing on some great tips. We cooked classic Moroccan dishes, Tagine, cooked salads and dessert. We had a great feast with a very lovely family. I would thoroughly recommend this half day course!

Cook better and have fun!

We really enjoyed this course. Going to the market with Abdel to shop was fascinating. Back in the kitchen, the time flew, I couldn't believe that we had prepared and eaten 2 courses in a morning. I have cooked tagines at home, but learnt so much from Abdel about what to do better - and what not to do! The filled filo pastry starter was a new departure for me. which I will try to do at home. I t was fun working with Abdel and his team, he is jolly and relaxed and knows exactly what he is doing - and his English is excellent. Before, I was a bit apprehensive, never having done a cooking class before, but I really enjoyed myself. Thank you, Abdel! Booking.com did not tell them we had booked, so they were surprised when we came to their door, but they were ready in no time and dropped everything else to look after us. I suggest that If no-one comes to the pick up point at Cafe de France, just go round to the restaurant 5 mins away and ring.

Moroccan Cooking Course

Many thanks to the team Dar Chef, Amina, Naji, and Chef Abdel for the warm welcome and their good mood. A top cooking class starting with small errands at the market with Naji and accompanying Abdel and Amina in the kitchen. We had a great time and we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend! 🤩
