The day trip begins by a pick up from your hotel or desired pick up location in Mombasa at around 8 am drive through the City Center towards the historical old town (kibokoni) where you find the famous Fort jesus museum which was designed by italian Giovanni Battista and was built between 1593 and 1596 by the oder of king Philip of portugal to guard the old port of Mombasa. There you can learn everything there is to be learnt about Mombasa and how it evolved. After that, a guide will continue to give you a guided tour passing through the Mombasa Club, Africa Hotel, Mandhry Mosque, Government Square, entering the Old Port and continuing towards Old spice Market. As the tour continues you will be walking through old colonial houses and mosques Discovering the culture and origin of Mombasa. Lunch in the old town – local cuisine with either sea food, pilau or biryani on the menu,available for you to have a taste of the swahili delicacy. .After that you can take a drive along mama ngina drive just to enjoy the scenic view of where the island ends and the ocean begins. In just a few meters is the Likoni Ferry channel which connects the North to the South Coast. Lastly visit the again Famous Pembe za ndovu(Elephant Tusks) as the local swahili call them,they can also be found on the back of the 50 ksh note.They symbolised Mombasa as the gateway to ivory trade back in the Arab trade era.Your driver-guide will stop you there for a photo session.You also get a chance to do a little shoping in the streets of mombasa town.
Later head to Haller Park in the afternoon in time to feed the Giraffes. : Haller Park (formerly Bamburi Nature Trail) is located South of the Bamburi cement plant along the Mombasa /Malindi highway. A product of the company's efforts, since 1971, to convert barren landscape of disused limestone quarries into vibrant and diverse ecosystem of forest, grasslands and ponds.Currently, Haller Park plays host to a variety of wildlife including hippos, giraffes, buffalos, and antelopes as well as smaller mammals and birds. The Park was the first recipient to be honoured with the United Nations Environmental Program Global 500 Roll of Honour award for the unique, ecologically sound and successful rehabilitation undertaken. The Park consists of a Game Sanctuary, Reptile Park, small demonstration Fish Farm area, Palm Garden, Crocodile pens and a giraffe viewing platform, offering a variety of attractions at the various points to educate and entertain the over 160,000 visitors who visit the park every year.The diversity of vegetation is considerable, from mangrove palms and majestic indigenous shade trees to coastal forests where several of these plants are rare and endangered; a haven for botanist. You can choose between haller park Or continue to Akamba Handicraft which is the local association of handicraft artisans that manages the production and sale of wooden carvings and other souvenirs in Mombasa. Walk in the workshop and watch how its all done, you will be amazed at what can come out from a simple piece of wood. After the tour of the workshops, you will have a chance to shop and buy some of the carvings and souvenirs that you might have liked in the workshops. They can also ship them abroad for you. After you are satisfied with shopping it’s now time to take you back to your hotel or drop off point in time for dinner

Really great day visiting Mombasa! Fami our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. Jimmy, our driver, was professional but a lot of fun too. Lunch at Fisherman’s Creek was amazing and Haller Park was interesting. A long day, but definitely worth it!
Unfortunately, the start was very bumpy. At the agreed pick-up time of 08:00 no one came. With local help and Get Your Guide, Natives was contacted, who sent a guide with driver a good hour later. Probably our booking had “gone through the rags”. The Fuhrer was very convinced of himself and set a pace as if he wanted to get the time out again.... He had a lot of information, was expert. He didn't have tickets to Fort Jesus... Then we got a 2. Führer, Ismail. The afternoon was fantastic!!!! Paradisiac lunch location on the beach. Ismail was super informative and likeable! Beautiful visit to Haller Park
In the morning we had a walk through the old town. Ken told us a lot about the history of Mombasa and we visited exciting spots. He also showed us the local market where we could taste and buy several spices. Lunch was at the Copa cabban Beach Bar. The food was very tasty (both fish and chicken) and the atmosphere at the beach was just great. In the afternoon, our driver Eric brought us to the Haller Park. We could watch the feeding of the crocodiles and the hippos. Our highlight was that we could even feed the giraffes ourselves. We can absolutely recommend this tour! We had a great day with Eric! He drove us savely through the busy streets while telling us very interesting stories about Mombasa. It was fun that he was also interested in our culture, so we had a great conversation!
Selfless driving. I didn't know much to say. Always in a hurry, probably wanted to be home early. He made us walk long distances to save gas. Not recommended!

Private tour booked with Natives Tours through Viator. Do not show up at the agreed time and do not communicate this. Driver leaves and leaves us disappointed. They're having trouble repaying. In short: absolutely not recommended.
Mr Fred, i am sorry that you did not get to attend the city tour, but you have no one to blame but yourself. Using different emails and profiles to leave bad reviews wont help solve your issue. This also shows that you very well know it was your own fault that you did not manage to attend the tour but you just cant accept it. On the website it is stated clearly that 8;30 am is when the tour is supposed to start, and pick up time is 2hours before start time. Despite the pick up information being displayed clearly, we also called you 6 times and sent you an email on Wednesday the day before the tour but your phone was not going through. We again tried calling you 7 times the morning of the tour and also sent another email informing you that the driver was already waiting for you at the reception area, but you were still unreachable. We later got a hold of you through the hotel room phone but it was already late to start your tour ,so after we talked i gave you an option to reschedule the tour to the next day whereby your wife agreed to it but you refused. I believe TripAdvisor shared with you all the screenshots of the our call log showing all the times we tried calling you,screenshots of the emails you claim you did not receive but we sent you, as well as a screenshot of where it states on the website that pick up time is 2 hours before start time and the exact pick up time will be communicated a day before the tour according to your pick up location. In this case you have no one to blame but yourself.
We looked forward to make this tour with our family, but one hour before departure time we got a phone call from the operator Natives Tours, that we should have left two hours before the agreed time. It was no longer possible to make this (private!) tour. Natives Tours claimed they had sent an email, but definitely I didn't received it. Very disappointing, because we really wanted to see the highlights from Mombasa. I assume we get a refund, but Natives Tours denies responsability. To be continuted.......

We were very satisfied. The driver was very punctual. The city guide was extremely friendly with great background information. He even spoke German. We will recommend the tour to others.

No other words, but EXCELLENT! Awesomely planned tour with authentic experience of the local life. Mostly appreciated was the details of the history of Mombasa. Our guide was superbly prepared to answer any question we had.
