Itinerary
Meet our Guide at Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie Kickstart your half-day Milan discovery by meeting our guide in front of the Santa Maria delle Grazie church.
Marvel at Da Vinci's Last Supper What sets da Vinci's famous mural apart is that it's not displayed in a museum among other masterpieces. Instead, it is directly painted onto the wall of the humble Santa Maria delle Grazie church. This creates a unique atmosphere, as the painting is housed in a sacred and private space. Consequently, the experience becomes even more memorable and exclusive, as only a limited number of tourists are granted access each day. This exclusivity is crucial for preserving the delicate art. Another significant advantage is having an expert guide who can highlight the key elements of the masterpiece and share the folklore, myths, secrets, and facts that surround the Last Supper. This guidance is essential since each group is allowed only 15 minutes in front of the painting, and the room can accommodate less than 30 people at a time. With a few helpful pointers, you can ensure that you don't miss any details about one of the world's most famous artworks.
Admire the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Mall Leaving the Santa Maria delle Grazie, your guide will lead you towards the city center to witness the splendor of one of the globe's most historic and lavish shopping arcades: the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Prepare to be enchanted as you encounter renowned establishments such as Gucci, Versace, Prada, and other prestigious brands within a structure that exudes the grandeur of a baroque palace rather than a typical mall. Welcome to the fashion epicenter of Milan, where your eyes will be dazzled by the opulence that surrounds you!
Pass by Sforza Castle (exterior only) The exterior of Sforza Castle is truly captivating, offering a delightful experience for visitors. The castle's architecture showcases a harmonious blend of different styles, making it a visual delight. From the imposing medieval fortress walls to the elegant Renaissance courtyards, the exterior of Sforza Castle presents a remarkable journey through time. The castle is surrounded by a picturesque park, providing a serene and scenic environment. The expansive grounds offer opportunities for leisurely walks, picnics, and exploration. You can admire the castle from various angles, appreciating its impressive scale and architectural details.
Pass by La Scala Theatre (outside only) The architectural grandeur of La Scala is awe-inspiring. From its majestic exterior adorned with neoclassical columns and statues to its lavish interiors featuring ornate decorations, intricate frescoes, and luxurious velvet seats, every detail exudes opulence and elegance. Although we only visit La Scala from the outside, our guide will be happy to share some fun facts on this impressive theatre.
Visit Milan's Duomo The renowned Duomo in Milan stands as one of the largest cathedrals globally and holds the distinction of being Italy's largest. With its vast array of captivating sights, skipping the line allows you to maximize your time exploring rather than waiting. The cathedral is a treasure trove of historic artworks, breathtaking architectural marvels, ancient crypts, and an intriguing archaeological area waiting to be discovered. Accompanied by your guide, delve into the enthralling 600-year history of its construction, the challenges faced, and the notable figures who once graced the corridors of this magnificent edifice.

There was alot of walking, and if it’s hot-as-hell, consider doing it in cooler weather. Our guide was great (forgot her name), and took into consideration the weather.
Thank you for your review! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your tour and that your guide helped make the experience more comfortable despite the summer heat. Milan is certainly best explored on foot, and we appreciate you sharing that helpful tip for future travelers. We hope to see you again!
While the tour was good, I felt a lot of time was wasted waiting on logistics and other group participants (some folks only joined for the last supper then left the group), another participant joined after last supper for the rest of the tour, one participant joined only at the castle. While the tour itself provides a good city overview, I didn't feel it justified the price (in comparison to other city tours).
María was amazing. This was a great way to not only see The Last Supper, but also to get an introduction to Milan with some super special nuggets along the way. Ending with the Milan Duomo was perfect.
no good overview of important information, rather dwelled on small details that no one will remember. not handed our Dumo and castle tickets which enables us to visit museum, guide accents difficult to understand. disappointed and would not recommend this overpriced trip, not worthy
We have taken MANY Viator tours. While this tour was spectacular and well worth the time and expense, it is very long (and terribly hot in July). I feel potential participants should realize the amount of walking is more than what you may be expecting. Our tour guide was absolutely amazing! We are still marveling at her knowledge of Milan and ability to communicate is a different language. Alisa was, by far, one of the most exceptional guides we have ever had with Viator. We learned so much about her beautiful city, Milan!
Great tour, very informational. My two teenagers loved it. The guide stopped for water breaks and found shade, as the temperature was high.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your Milan Highlights Tour and that your teenagers had a great time as well. We're glad your guide helped make the experience comfortable by including water breaks and finding shaded areas during the warmer weather. We hope to welcome you and your family on another tour soon!
Our guide was fabulous! So knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. She really cared for the kids in the group, shared fun details for them. She added to the tour with adding a walk through the artsy neighborhood. I learned so much from her. I would do another tour with her in a heartbeat!

Too much time between attractions . They gave us 20 in the gift shop. Difficult to understand the guide.
Hi Laura, thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are glad you were able to experience these iconic Milanese highlights, though we are sorry to hear that the pacing and the guide's clarity did not fully meet your expectations. Our itineraries, especially those including the Last Supper and the Duomo, are meticulously timed around strict, non-negotiable entry slots mandated by the monuments, which can sometimes create brief gaps between sites. Our local guides are chosen for their deep historical expertise, but we take communication styles very seriously. Your notes have been shared directly with our Milan Operations Manager to review our guide roster and ensure our commentary is clear and engaging for everyone. We hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future.
An excellent tour with an excellent guide. We learned a lot about the last supper, the Domo, and Milan in general.
Hi Ryan, Thank you so much for the excellent review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about the Duomo, the Last Supper, and the history of Milan. Our guides love sharing the city's stories, so it is wonderful to know they made the experience so memorable for you. Thank you for choosing to explore Milan with us.
We had a lovely time with our amazing guide, Jose. He was an incredible storyteller and brought the history of Milan to life. Definitely a heavy walking tour, so wear good shoes, but 100% worth it to see the big hits of Milan.
