Delicious food, a very friendly guide, and a beautiful city made this a really enjoyable experience.
Thank you so much for your kind review! 😊 We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and your time exploring the city with your guide. Creating relaxed and authentic experiences for our guests is exactly what we love to do. Thanks again for joining us!
The food was incredible, absolutely spectacular. Of course, this is Italy, so the food is naturally delicious, but without this tour we would never have found these amazing places. Everything was outstanding: the cannoli, the pizza, the tiramisu, each one unique and unforgettable. We simply wouldn’t have discovered them if it hadn’t been for this tour. Five stars for five fantastic spots!
Had such a great time on this Milan food tour! The guide was super friendly and made the experience really fun. Every stop had something delicious—from pastries and gelatos to seafood and wine. Loved discovering hidden spots I never would’ve found on my own. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We love a good food tour but this just wasn’t one of them. The guide didn’t introduce the food well and it was basically a waitress serving us at each spot what we wanted. The lady was lovely but got lost twice and I even had to help find a place.
I’m very sorry to read your feedback, and I truly regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. The situation with the guide getting lost happened because one of the restaurants recently changed its address, and this created confusion on that specific day. This was a one-time issue, and we have already updated all of our routes to make sure it never happens again. Regarding your comment about the introduction of the food, we take this very seriously. All of our guides are professionals, and after your tour we have provided additional training and feedback to the guide in question, based directly on your review. We are constantly improving, and we now only work with guides who are enthusiastic, well-prepared, and happy to share both the food and the cultural stories behind it. We are confident that future guests will continue to enjoy the authentic dishes, hidden gems, and history that make our tours so special. Thank you again for your feedback, which helps us keep raising our standards.
we had just arrived in Milan that day so this was a good introduction to the city. The food and locations were good but the meeting place was difficult to find. We were the only ones on the tour so it felt like a private experience which was lovely. Anish was a lovely host.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad Anish gave you such a warm welcome to Milan and that you enjoyed the food and hidden spots — almost like a private tour. We’ll also review the meeting point instructions to make them clearer for future guests. If your travels take you further, we’d love to see you again on our City Food Tour Hidden Gems in Lisbon, Porto, Madrid, Prague, Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, Amsterdam, Krakow, Warsaw, Brno — and even in South America with Quito and Cuenca. The experience was disappointing. The guide appeared a few minutes late, causing some apprehension whether the tour would happen. He did his best to make it a success. However, we were the only participants so keeping it “lively” was a challenge. It appeared that there was little or no advance planning on where we were going to stop for food and the last place we stopped served only on a takeout basis. We chose to end the tour early and return to our hotel. Our impression is that the guide was poorly prepared, but did the best he could under difficult circumstances. Probably the tour provider should have canceled when it was apparent that there were only two participants.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the experience didn’t meet your expectations. However, as clearly stated at the time of booking, the minimum number of participants for the tour is 2, and that condition was met. In fact, many guests are thrilled to have a more private and personalized experience when the group is small — some even pay extra to book a private tour. Group size can vary — sometimes there are 10 guests, sometimes just 2 — but that’s beyond our control. Giving a low rating solely because there were only two participants feels unfair, especially since you mentioned no complaints during the tour and seemed to truly enjoy the food. As for the guide, he is an experienced Italian professional who was at the meeting point on time. The food stops were all planned in advance, with four seated tastings in restaurants, and the final stop being one of the most famous tiramisu spots in Milan. While it’s a more casual setting, this is part of the authentic Italian food culture — enjoying top-quality street food right where it’s made, just like locals do. It’s not just takeout; people eat it right there in the street, and that adds charm and flavor to the experience. We're proud of the quality and variety we offer, and we're glad the food itself met your expectations.
Tour was amazing. Very good food and the local guide was so funny that makes us enjoy even more. We love it and enjoy it a lot!

This tour was way overpriced for what you get! And it was like going with an acquaintance to dinner and having them pay at each location. When we were walking to our first stop, the rain, thunder, and wind started. Our tour guide had no idea how to handle that. She tried to contact her boss, but got no reply. She offered to reschedule the tour, but since we were taking another tour the next day that wasn’t going to work. We suggested canceling and she said we would not be able to get our money back. So, we bought umbrellas for her and us and hid at the OVS until the rain kind of subsided. When we were finally able to continue, our fist stop was at a pasta place, which was primarily fish, something we noted in our restrictions. Again, no communication. We were told we could order one pasta to share and one glass of wine each. The next stop was a small cannoli that we had to stand outside in the rain and eat. The third stop was a pizza place. We were told we had to share a cheese pizza and we got one glass of wine each. Total amount spent was probably €60. The rain caused a lot of flooding which prohibited us from going to the two additional stops, tiramisu and gelato which were outside. The guide was nice, but had no information of the area or any of the food. I have requested a partial refund 4 days ago, but have yet to hear from the tour operator. I’m not impressed with the lack of communication and I would think Viatour would not want to represent a company like this.
Dear guest, It’s clear to us that your intention was to take advantage of the system, and we feel the need to clarify the situation for the sake of honesty and transparency. You joined the tour, ate and drank, and only afterward requested a refund — despite the fact that our guide clearly offered you the chance to request a refund or reschedule due to the rain. You chose to continue the experience because it wasn’t a thunderstorm — it was normal rain — and ask for a refund once the food had been served and consumed, it makes no logic. Your claim that the total spent was €60 is completely false — we have receipts proving a significantly higher amount. As with any professional tour, the price also includes guiding, logistics, service, and planning. At the pasta stop, while one option included fish, you were clearly offered and served a non-fish dish, following your dietary notes. At the pizza stop, the large pizza was shared — a standard approach in food tours so guests can enjoy all five stops without feeling too full early on — which might explain why you chose not to continue to the last two stops. Even though we had umbrellas, you didn’t want to walk in normal rain, despite the fact we had planned to serve high-quality tiramisu and what many consider the best gelato in Milan, especially fitting for the summer. You also claimed we didn’t respond to your refund request, which is again not true — we replied through Viator, and they reviewed the situation and denied the refund based on their policy. We are now taking further steps due to the false claims made in your review, which are misleading and unfair to our team and future guests. We’re proud of the honest, local experiences we deliver across Europe and South America. It’s unfortunate to come across guests who choose to exploit our work and damage our reputation, but we remain committed to quality, transparency, and hospitality. Sincerely, Juan Cueva Owner and Manager
