Was a beautiful cathedral, guide knew a lot about the history and was a pleasure to listen to. She made I fun.
Timing wise the 2.5 hours is 20-30 navigating the terrace. And only 30-40 minutes are inside. It was a lot more learning about Milan than I anticipated as I thought it was more duomo focused.
our cathedral tour was fantastic. This structure was magnificent and it was brought to life by our guide, Barbara, She was friendly and caring. She ably preformed her function as she gave us a running history of the events which led to changes in the architectural changes as the construction went through different phases of development. While being impressed with the art work of the outer structure with the numerous, statues, ? 2300 decorating the 135 spires, then on the inside with another 1100 figures, and then being elevated to the top of the cathedral, one is left awestruck. What men can build when they work together. A site that should be experienced if only once.
Barbara was a great guide. Cute funny charming and very informative Excellent English skills too and helpful with dining and shopping recommendations
Fadia was a humorous, entertaining, knowledgeable guide! The weather was lousy, but she kept our spirits up! Her knowledge of the Duomo was awesome. She knew the intricate details. Skip the line tickets are the way to go & to have the guide explain everything to you is such a plus! Even though it was pouring, the Terraces were gorgeous! The craftsmanship of all the marble sculptures were incredible! Spend the money & do the skip the line guided tours. You won’t be disappointed.
This tour was an absolute delight for us. We had specific preferences: we wanted a tour that exclusively focused on the Dumo and its surrounding areas, just outside the Dumo itself. Additionally, we had already visited the Last Supper, so we didn’t want to include it in our itinerary. This tour perfectly catered to our requirements. During the short walk, we gained valuable insights into the area surrounding the Dumo, and of course, we had the opportunity to explore the Dumo itself. Our tour group consisted of six people, which was an ideal size. We all had earpieces, which made it incredibly easy to hear our guide. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a comprehensive and informative experience of the Dumo and its surroundings.
Paced well. Very organized. The depth oh knowledge shared was enjoyed by all. Facts you don’t learn in school that enhanced the enjoyment of a spectacular cathedral. Outstanding experience.
If you want to explore and learn about the Milan Cathedral or “Duomo,” do NOT book this tour. It was advertised as”Milan: Cathedral and Terraces Guided Tour with Tickets.” That title is misleading, because the tour began with over an hour of touring the Galleria shopping center, the Scala Square and the Ragione Palace. This part of the tour was not mentioned in the booking confirmation they sent us. By the time the guide got us back to the cathedral and through the long line, there were only 20 minutes left in the two-hour time slot. She then told us a few things about the cathedral, showed us the way to the elevator to the terraces, and told us good-bye! The “itinerary” said she would spend at least an hour and ten minutes teaching about the history and construction of the cathedral, but the Tour Operator, “Walks in Europe,” did NOT DELIVER. Secondly, neither the booking confirmation nor the Voucher told us the precise meeting point. Both said to meet at the Galleria shopping complex across from the Duomo. Though we arrived over 15 minutes early, there was no sign of our tour leader. We frantically searched the Galleria and the Cathedral entrances and finally called a number in small print on the booking confirmation. We learned that the actual meeting point was specific Cafe near the entrance to the Galleria. We finally found the group and took the disappointing tour.
Great tour! Covered a lot more than just the Duomo, including the surrounding area. Barbara, our TourGuide, was terrific (very informative and personable).
Our guide was exactly where she said she would be which made meeting her easy. Very informative and intimate experience in such a big place. Pay to skip lines, the lines will only get longer as the day goes on. Book a tour before noon or you could be a bit frustrated with the sheer number of people. This is not a tour for people that require canes or walkers. This is not a tour for people with strollers. This can be a pretty strenuous place. Plan accordingly.
