To do

It was a very nice experience with beautiful landscapes. The 2 people who accompanied us Nadia and Ismael were very nice and kind and we sang during the trip. I advise tourists to do this attraction.

Ok trip, Poorly organised and don’t book lunch,

There are a couple of good points stopping this from being a 1 star review but I’ll start from the top. We booked this trip a month in advance and saw they took bookings on Eid. This is a holiday in Morocco and most parts of Marrakesh are shut, we thought this would be a good way to make the most of the day. Our payment was taken as scheduled a few days prior to the trip and I contacted them the morning before about the pick up time. At 4pm they responded saying they should not have allowed us to book on Eid and that they could change it to another day. Our plans for the next couple of days had to completely change at very short notice, however they accommodated us the following day. It’s not a hotel pick up, we were picked up a 5 min walk away at 9am but this wasn’t an issue. The driver was fantastic, overall a nice bloke. First stop is the view of the Atlas Mountains which is great, second is at the Argan Oil Shop. It’s a waste of 45 mins whilst you are pitched overpriced ‘miricle’ cosmetic products, however this is a confirmed stop in the itinerary. The Berber house was alright, it’s a short tour through it and you do get to learn about how it used to function. To hike to the waterfall we got a new guide. Again really good, knowledgable about the area and went beyond to make sure everyone was ok on what can be a challenging hike at times. Waterfall at the end is stunning, you do it in the middle of the day however in the burning sun, could have been scheduled much better. The lunch is where it really takes a turn. Do not purchase this. We got there at 2pm and all the tables at the river were taken, so you have to sit at the back in a swarm of bees and no view of the water. Restaurant was overcrowded, food was bad and long wait times. Lots of other options a short walk away, I would recommend you do this if you book the trip.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We would like to clarify several points for future travelers. The rescheduling was due to the exceptional circumstances of Eid Al-Adha, a national holiday during which many local businesses and facilities unexpectedly closed. As soon as we became aware of the situation, affected guests were contacted and offered either a free reschedule or a full refund. We appreciate your flexibility in joining the tour the following day. Regarding the excursion itself, we are pleased that you enjoyed the Atlas Mountains, the Berber house visit, the waterfall hike, and the professionalism of both the driver and local guide. These are key highlights consistently appreciated by many travelers. We would also like to clarify that the Argan cooperative is clearly listed in the itinerary and remains an optional cultural stop where guests are free to browse without any obligation to purchase. Concerning lunch, table allocation at riverside restaurants depends on availability at the time of arrival, especially during busy periods. The restaurant used is one of the most established venues in the valley and serves hundreds of visitors daily. We regret that your seating arrangement did not meet your expectations, but this does not reflect the experience of the majority of our guests. We always value constructive feedback and remain committed to providing transparent information and quality experiences for all travelers.

A beautiful day in Ourika valley!

My wife and I booked this less than 24hours via Booking.com. Almost immediately, our guide Aziz contacted us via whatsapp to arrange pickup details. The transport was on time and comfortable, the trip included calling at a local Berber house to experience Aargan oil & other scents making, then continuing to Ourika valley where climbed 1600m of Atlas mountain, we had lots of pauses for pictures and rests. The pathway is designed to call into many local craftsmen mini shops where you could buy souvenirs. Then, we descended into a beautiful lunch bye the river. Ensure you have an extra layer as it could be really breezy. Big shout outs to Aziz who made this a lovely memory for us!

Operator response
