Itinerary
You will start your door to door tour with a meeting of your Guide and Driver to start the adventure. The Koutoubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakech. The mosque is also known by several other names, such as Jami ‘al-Kutubiyah, the Kotoubia mosque, the Kutubiya mosque, the Kutubiyyin mosque and the booksellers’ mosque. It is located in the southwest medina district of Marrakech. The mosque is decorated with curved windows, a ceramic strip, pointed merlons and decorative arches; it has a large square with gardens, and is lit at night.
Continue to the most beautiful palaces and monuments of Marrakech, the Bahia Palace. Built in the late 19th century, the name literally means "brilliance" and was intended to be the greatest palace of its time. The best workers and artisans of the country have worked continuously for six years (1894-1900) to achieve it.
You will have walk to explore Jemaa el Fna, the primary square in the medina and a UNESCO world heritage site. Though now filled with street performers, snake charmers, merchants, and orange juice stalls, when it was created in 1050, it was used for public executions, perhaps leading to its name which can be translated as “assembly of death”.
With your expert certified tour guide by your side, appreciate a genuine walk through Marrakech old city. Explore the hidden and authentic side of the ancient city walled medina of Marrakech, stroll along some of the oldest quarter and discover the medieval way of life of its inhabitants and their daily occupation. Fall in love with the towering minaret, intricately carved archways, splendid Moorish iconic architecture and ornate mosques and walk in the souks at the famous Djemaa El Fna square where tightly packed stalls are exhibiting exotic goods and intriguing crafts from Morocco’s past.
Built in the 14th century, this historic Islamic school located in the heart of Marrakech, was once the largest Islamic school in North Africa and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Majorelle Garden was first created by the French painter Jacques Majorelle in 1923. He had built a villa for himself there and expanded his property buying further parcels of land crowded with the painter's botanical collection from all over the world. After the death of Majorelle , the garden was neglected and abandoned until it was discovered by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé who had restored the house, enriched the botanical garden and brought them to their former glory. The villa Studio is now home to a Berber Culture Museam which contains the best of YSL personal collection of Berber items like authentic hand made silver jewelry , antique ceramic, rugs and other pieces of art. Thank you for your review
I booked a whole day tour and it was just 4 hours. It specified that it was going to have a private car and that did not happen. Everything was walking. The tour guide look tired and kept yawning all the time. No real history shared. Dissapointing.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations , As for the guide’s performance, this is certainly not the level of service we aim to deliver. We will address this internally to improve the experience for future guests. The duration of the tour depends on the pace of your visit. Regarding the car, since your hotel was located in the Medina, close to all the monuments and not accessible by vehicle, we opted for a walking tour instead.
Everything was great, pick up was on time, and we were given a nice guided tour around the market. It was very informative, and we were shown into a few shops and give an explanations of various vendors and how they do their crafts. I would recommend taking this tour if you are visiting Marrakesh and do not want to traverse the market by yourself.
