We paid for this and nobody contacted us. Than I contacted them 1:30 hour after they had to Picked up us from the hotel. In 2 hours some misterous guy with broken car, no Air conditioner at 40 degrees outside picked up us from the hotel and dropped us off at some strange place in old building at 3rd floor and a women came to ask us if we have a reservation. Nobody knew where is the place we paid for.
If you would like a Hammam / Massage Experience in Marrakesh I would 100% avoid Hotel Islane. We turned up at 11am having told The guide that we were time conscious. Turned up at reception and there was nobody there or so we thought. There was a woman staring at us in not a nice way on the telephone. Half an hour later she identifies herself as staff and all she said was 5 minutes. I called the guide and he went missing. No Support. Also the place was so unclean and had dirty floors and flies everywhere. Even snotty tissues!!After another 30 minutes with no acknowledgement we decided to leave. Ruined what has been a lovely stay in Marrakesh with friendly locals. Have asked for a Refund. Would avoid booking here
The driver changed our appointment in the morning, informing us of a meeting 4 km from the hotel. Very difficult to reach, he arrived at the hotel 90 minutes late. Not friendly; even the hammam complains about this provider. To be avoided. A very pleasant surprise that is not due to the provider; the hammam is welcoming and very professional.
Good way to spend the afternoon for an authentic cultural experience. The spa itself was great. Had misunderstanding issues and thought I was going to meet the driver after a mile walk but instead was provided directions to the spa itself so "hotel pickup" and drop off are probably dependent on hotel location and understandings with the provider. Pleasant afternoon overall.
No blame for this should go to the Spa or Tripadvisor. Driver messaged the night before to change the collection time from 11:00 to 12:30, he turned up at 1pm and got to the Spa at 1:30 pm, however the spa couldn't accomodate us, as they had not been kept informed by the driver of the changes, so we had to go elsewhere. After multiple eails back and to with Viator, through Tripadvisor we eventually got out money back. One thing I would say is that the reviews seem to reference different spas, so I can only assume that the experience is booked with the operator who then makes a deal with the spa and Hammam locally. The Spa looked beautiful, it was a shame we didnt get to try it but they were very apologetic and they did try to rearrange the time, but we were flying later that day so couldn't push it back any further.
The girls at the hammam were nice and kind and the experience was good. Massage well performed and with care. Just know that you will come out with damp hair. There was no transfer from the hotel (the driver wrote to us and arranged an appointment at a point that proved to be the address of another hammam where we still had the massage.
Criminal experience from the service provider and viator. Do NOT GO!!! They steal and drop you off in the middle of nowhere
The information in the tripadviser advertisement was misleading and incorrect. We did not get a 45 minute massage and hammam. It was much shorter. Also the towels were dirty (used before?) The ladies rushed us through the process. We got interrupted alot. It felt like a production line, very bad!
Driver picked me up in a filthy muddy car and dropped me at a cheap hotel and told me to wait in dark and dirty hallway. Hammam was not open and I waited alone for over an hour. No one helped me. I didn’t feel safe. The driver didn’t return when I called him so, I walked another hour back to my hotel. Not a good experience for a solo woman.
Beautiful tour in the south (Marrakesh, Ouarzazate, Tinghrir, Taouz, Er Rashidia, Midelt, Fez, Meknes, Beni Mellal and Marrakech. Beautiful landscapes, great camp in the desert to admire the sunset, beautiful riad in Midelt and finally, a pleasant hammam with massage that leaves us only beautiful and good memories. Do not hesitate to contact me (06 08 26 40 92) for more information. And if you want to rent a car you can contact YACOUT TOURS in Marrakech (Tel 05 24 44 95 22 or +212 6 61 34 1407 in Morocco). The service is impeccable and the car will be delivered to you wherever you want for a very modest price.
