Marrakech: Sunset Dinner in Agafay Desert with show & Transport

We booked a dinner in the Agafey Desert, we were picked up promptly. Ilias (your guide) was great. He changed the pickup location when told it was too far for me. He looked after us throughout the trip. Great time watching the sunset in the desert, the light was fantastic.

This trip was a surprising let-down on an otherwise-incredible exploration of Marrakesh and is, unfortunately, the only Viator experience I've ever wished I hadn't gone on. I think for us, one of the main issues was the lack of communication or any seeming 'guide' or tour leader at any point in the experience. Beforehand, we were messaged by Iilyas who said he would be our guide in the desert but we never met him and didn't get any communication from him. I noticed other groups getting proper talks about camels and the desert and sharing tea, but we were glossed over, so I think maybe we were just forgotten? As a result, we had no real idea what was happening at any point in the night. We had a separate driver to our 'guide' (in theory, although we never met the guide!) who told us very little (although he was a nice guy!) and took us to random spots including a women's cooperative and a set of sofas in the desert to have a drink on. Whilst he was lovely his driving was really scary - he wrote a list, ate peanuts and watched TV while driving 😂 and only rectified his behaviour when we came across police checkpoints. We have travelled far and wide across various places in the world and I must admit this driving is more scary than lots of places I've been and not reflective of the general Morrocan tour standard. The food was also really inedible - everything was cold, the chicken was 80% bones and the cous cous and veg were passable but not great. The hygiene standards also weren't great in the toilets etc so take hand sanitiser if you go :). The service at the restaraunt and the dancing and entertainment was really fun! They did a wonderful job, as did the servers, but overall it was a really lukewarm experience. If I had been able to leave, I would have!

Amazing Agafay Desert experience! Ismail was an excellent tour guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout the trip. Everything was well organized, and he made sure everyone had a great time. The sunset, dinner, and show were unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Went on the trip with my wife. This was an excellent trip and Ismail was the perfect host, who couldn't do enough to help. Would recommend this to anyone in Marrakesh.

Amazing and memorable evening in the Agafy dessert. The tour operator was very good at communicating our pick up point. We had no issue with the pick up and drop off. It was nice to receive a message from them asking if we arrived safe back at our Riad. We did book the camel ride thinking it will be everyone in the group doing this. However because it was only the two of us it felt very personal and private. We loved the 20 min on the camel but for our first experience we have to say any longer it would have been too much. We loved the food on the camp site and the fire show. Overall we do recommend to do this trip. Is really worth it. ❤️

Fantastic experience 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Delicious food very friendly driver who picks up and drops off at hotel which is convenient. Fire show was really cool & really good vibes traditional Moroccan dancing which was cool to watch. Beautiful sunsets and cool rocky desert landscapes. Take pictures! 😄

An absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience! If you are thinking about taking a trip to the Merzouga desert, you need not look for anything else. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish, with numerous activities and interesting stops that made the trip very complete and dynamic. I want to especially highlight the kindness, friendliness, and professionalism of our guide, who was always attentive to all group members, explaining each place with enthusiasm and making us feel comfortable and well taken care of at all times. Her warmth and good humor made a significant difference in the experience. The desert is simply spectacular, a magical place that surpasses any photograph. Seeing the dunes, enjoying the landscape, and experiencing the atmosphere of the Sahara is something I will remember for a lifetime. The dinner was another highlight of the trip. The food was delicious and was abundant and varied. Additionally, it was accompanied by a fantastic show that made the evening even more special. I loved how the entertainers engaged the entire group during the entertainment, creating a very fun, cheerful atmosphere filled with laughter. It was impossible not to have a good time. In short, it has been a fantastic experience, perfectly organized, full of unforgettable moments, stunning landscapes, and wonderful people. Without a doubt, one of the best excursions I have taken in my life and an essential activity for anyone visiting Morocco. I would do it again without thinking twice!

I had a wonderful experience at the desert show. The entire evening was well organized, enjoyable, and exactly as described. From the comfortable transportation to the entertainment and atmosphere, everything ran smoothly and made for a memorable night. A special mention to our guide, Ilias, who was excellent throughout the experience. He was punctual, provided clear explanations, and regularly checked in with the group so everyone knew what to expect next. The vehicle was comfortable, the drive was pleasant, and he made sure everything was running according to plan. What I appreciated most was his attentiveness and professionalism. At the end of the evening, he dropped me as close as possible to my riad and even checked that I got back safely. As a solo traveler, that extra care was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this experience, and Ilias was a big part of what made the evening so enjoyable.
